sapphire halo earrings

hello, old friends. it has been a very long time since i was on these boards learning about sapphires for my ring. for the past eight (yes, 8!) years, i have been searching, on and off, for a pair of round sapphires for earrings. about 4-5 years ago, i decided that heated stones were ok, thinking it would be easier to find what i was looking for. NOT! but here they are. many thanks to the talented david klass for the halo settings that are so comfortable (the stones are too deep for martinis).

the specs:
7.03 and 6.94 mm round sapphires, heat only, ceylon, certified by lotus
9.5 mm total diameter
set in platinum

first photo is from david klass. alas, my photograph skills have not improved at all ... i can't get my iphone to focus on the earring for the earshot!

thanks, everyone, for your kind thoughts. although it looks like the earrings match my ring, it couldn't be farther from the truth! unfortunately, my ring is sitting in a bank so i don't have it here to do a side-by-side comparison. but the earrings are MUCH lighter in tone than my ring and alas, not as saturated. though they are nice and bright, they just don't have that special "glow" from the silk in the ring.

i bought the earrings after the vendor provided some photos and a lightbox video. i was *THIS* close to passing on the stones because i thought they looked too light in tone, grey-ish and just washed out. however, based on years of reading advice on pricescope, i knew they would darken a bit after being set and, more importantly, would look darker sitting vertically on my ears rather than horizontally like a ring.

i've attached a screenshot of the lightbox video and vendor photo to give you a sense of what i saw. i've learned so much from this site on how to pick out sapphires, and so appreciate everyone's willingness to provide honest feedback and suggestions!
