Sapphire opinions please

Hi everybody. I''m shopping for a stone for a 5th anniversary ring. Which of these two sapphires would you choose? The first is really oddly cut, but oooh the color. The second is a better cut an clarity but the color isn''t as vivid.

Or has anyone seen anything even more luscious at another site? We really cheaped out on my engagement ring so I want something special this year. (Though I''d like to keep the stone under 2000.) Plus we''re both born in September. Thanks for any help.

I like the second stone too, but the blue on the first one is amazing. I am just not sure how much sparkle it has and I would worry about it blacking out. But these are question you could ask the dealer.

I agree the color of the first one is really interesting. I guess thats what they call a sleepy stone right? I read stones like that don't really show much extinction which is a plus.

I like the second one better too - the cut on the first one is just too wonky for me.

I really like the color of the first one. The best thing to do, would be to call and talk to Steven Bliss. He is wonderful and he could really explain both stones to you.
