I haven’t posted in far too long but have been lurking and admiring!
I just purchased a pair of Ceylon sapphire studs (2.40tcw) in WG only to discover that one has a damaged culet (and a random negative intact crystal in the table). My dilemma is this:

1. Do I return the 2.40 pair (6.3mm ea.) and exchange for the unmanaged 1.90 pair (6.2mm ea) in a similar color, or
2. Keep the 2.40 pair at a discount because the seller has given me the option of a partial refund, or
3. Keep the 2.40 pair at a discount, buy the 1.90 pair too, and do something fun with the unmanaged stone in the larger pair.

First pic(s) are of the 2.40 pair, last photo is from vendor of the 1.90 pair.

Exchange for smaller pair.

Exchange for smaller pair.

Yes I agree with this. Return the damaged earring pair and get the smaller pair of similar color.
Or return the damaged pair and keep looking if the 1.90 pair doesn't scratch your itch.
Don't settle. If the smaller pair isn't what you want keep looking.

Agreed with both of the above - return the damaged pair. LOVE the color though (in the photo on the ear particularly). I can't imagine there would be much difference between 6.3 and 6.2 mm, so if the color is the same, I would go for the smaller pair.
