School Me On Halos?

Hi there! I’m anxiously awaiting on a new diamond to make its way to me today as an upgrade, and I’m passing the time by working out all the details I want in my new ring.

I’ve decided I want a cushion halo with a plain shank-I’ll have a round diamond. However, I’m wondering if anyone can point me to education specific to halo settings? I want to make sure I ask for everything correctly-planning on having David Klass make the ring after the holiday is over. I want to make sure the actual halo piece is delicate but at the same time I want as much structural security and integrity as possible. I’ve combed through the halo threads and have ideas of what I want design wise but am really looking for information on how to make it as secure as possible.

I would be more concerned with deciding on the size of the diamonds in the halo in relation to the size of your diamond. David Klass or any accomplished bench will definitely take care of structure. Depends on if you want a cathedral setting or want stems underneath or whatever. He will be glad to discuss these options with you. Look at the Victor Canera website - he made the Emiliya halo and added just the right amount of angle to the halo. Unfortunately, he will not set outside stones. You might get some good ideas though from his site. Sounds like an exciting project!

Just thought I'd create a thread to celebrate the beloved Victor Canera Emilya setting! There have been many iterations of this setting over the years based on the @frankiextah original on PS!

I hope everyone will add their VC Emilya rings to this thread so everyone can enjoy them all in one place! Please try to include the size/stats of your center stone with ring size! TIA!

I'll go first and post my 4.7 ct I VS-1 ACA VC Emilya cathedral setting here...

Here is the thread of someone who created a cushion halo with a 2.1 carat Whiteflash A Cut Above Diamond. She opted for the plain shank - love this ring! Lots of discussion in the thread about the elements she needed to decide on for her ring.

I recently upgraded my stone from 1.5 ct H SI2 Very Good cut to 2.07 ct I VS2 ACA.
I have been torn on how to set this stone as I’m hoping I will not have to go through this process again. My original setting was a classic solitaire (hubby picked everything on his own) which I was very happy with for 10 years, and then the head broke off. I then found Pricescope (the obsession kicked in) and I ultimately decided on the round Emilya for my re-set. I originally chose the cushion halo but at that time so may gorgeous round Emilya's were...

I was on the search to replace my lost eternity band and engagement ring. I knew I wanted to stick with a 15 point full eternity but wasn’t sure on the setting. I stumbled upon the Annette U prong at Whiteflash (once again thanks to PS) and fell in love. I figured it made sense to also purchase the diamond from WF as I knew I wanted top cut, didn’t want to spend the time sorting thru tons of diamonds as I am far from an expert, and WF had stellar reviews on PS.
