I just felt like posting this here e/t I haven''t been around much..It makes me feel better to share whereas I can''t really talk about it without losing it...
....After winning the kitty lottery and coming into our home about 5 years ago...and after being diagnosed with FIV (feline aids)...and then going into heart failure and *amazing* all of the doctors by surviving...and then hanging on and **absolutely loving** life and food and love for 6 months after being diagnosed with heart disease (HCM) (he did have a HUGE heart in many ways) and kidney disease/renal failure (CRF)....Scotty is in kitten heaven now....He led a fabulous life and only very recently fell "ill"....We put him down after doing some bloodwork which revealed that he was, in fact, in accute renal failure and severly anemic so that nothing could be done for him to improve his quality of life for more than a few days.....
I held him in my arms as he peacefully passed and whispered into his ears that he was, indeed, the best cat in the world....
My husband is devastated and I joked that he would be less upset if he had to put ME down...I am trying to hold it together for him and hope to find him a cat that can love him as Scotty did....As all of my babies, Scotty was a rescue cat and he new it. By passing away, he makes room for us to give a wonderful loving home to one of his comrades....
Anyway...Thanks for listening...MMM
