Hi everyone! My nephew is looking to purchase a diamond for his future bride. He is thinking 4k for a radiant. I would like to have a higher color since I believe they show color more. I am thinking of the E, F, G, H range?? Thoughts would be helpful on that one. Also would prefer VS1 or VS2.

Side note, I know mindclean is a thing in terms of mined vs lab. Can you visually tell a difference? I know there is a lab page but was hoping to find a mined stone. Just want to present him all options if that would be a better bet.

I have NO idea how to even begin searching as this is a shape I am not familiar with. Thank you all in advance.

Does she want a radiant?

Yes :) that is the one thing she was certain about. It's her favorite cut.

Does she prefer a square radiant or an elongated shape?

She wants an elongated shape but I do not know the exact ratio to state. Just not too long and skinny.

https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD17090465?track=FCOM&slot=2&type=closestAlternative - a little smaller but seems to otherwise meet the criteria.

https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD11912303?track=FCOM&slot=2&type=closestAlternative - slightly more pronounced octagon shape (which is my personal visual prefence, but is not for everyone).

As far as mined vs. lab grown, visually you cannot tell the difference unless the lab grown diamond has stria or blue nuance that is visible with the naked eye.

Those are both stunning! However, I meant he wants to spend $4,000 whatever the largest he can get for that. Sorry for the confusion.

Gottcha! That makes this much easier to find a good stone. 4ct+ size was giving me a headache.

I like the first natural one you sent! I forwarded it along. How much over budget would it be to get a 1 carat? Thank you!

that 1.55 from JA is nice looking ! Not bad for the size and color.

Depending on where you look you probably don't need to go over budget for a 1ct (or only go over it a little).

Here are a few 1ct options I found:

https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD15789433?refTab=DIAMONDS&track=viewDiamondDetails - $4,286

https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD01234240?refTab=DIAMONDS&track=viewDiamondDetails - $4,374 (barely qualifies as elongated, but I liked the cut!)

https://www.yadavjewelry.com/diamond/radiant-diamond-1.01-carat-h-vs2-yd15828204 - $3,979 (you will need to look at the video, not sample image)

https://www.yadavjewelry.com/diamond/radiant-diamond-1.01-carat-h-vvs1-yd15672308 - $3,980 (again with needing to click on the video)
