Hi,

I'm searching for a curved diamond wedding ring to match the engagement ring that I gave to my girlfriend.

The ER is a James Allen Cross Prong 18k white gold setting (#11116W) with a .70ct round ideal cut. JA's page for the ring is here: http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/contemporary-rings/diamond-solitaire-ring.html The diamond, for anyone interested, is here: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1271987.asp

I want the side of the wedding ring to be completely smooth with no "teeth" or steps from the prongs. I also want it to be sleek with no beading or carvings. I don't care whether it's 14k or 18k gold. Two rings that seem to be almost what we're look for are below:

The Jared seems like a better ring as the diamonds are larger (more t.w. and fewer diamonds than the JA ring). It also seems like a better deal. Only problem is that we need the ring in a size 4 or 4.25 and the Jared website lists a min. of 5.5. I haven't talked with them yet.

The JA ring seems a bit too small (too thin, with diamonds that are a bit too small).

Anyone have any suggestions?

For ref, here's three types of ring we don't want:

Thanks,

/G

No advice about the diamond band...but, in order to receive more replies, I think you 'd better post in the "RockyTalky" forum or in the "Showmethebling" forum.

Ok, so you don't want shared prong, bead set or milgraining. Whiteflash has a beautiful channel set curved wedding band. It's custom so yo'd have to send them your e-ring to match it up, but you can also specify that you want minimal metal on the sides.

WF version: http://www.whiteflash.com/wedding-bands/x-prong-channel-set-diamond-wedding-band-780.htm

I have a D.Vatche trellis setting and have the matching plain curved band (do a search on D.Vatche in SMTB and you'l leasily find my thread). While I love the look of the matching curved plain band, keep in mind that unless you solder the rings together, it does twist and won't always match up, curve to curve. I'm contemplating keeping a diamond band but if I don't, I'll probably solder my rings together.

Have you tried any diamond straight bands? If not, try those first and if you really don't like the gap then go for the curved band.

Take a second look: the James Allen ring has F-G color diamonds, clarity minimum VS2-SI1 while the Jared ring has HIJ color diamonds, clarity I1-I2. I really don't think the Jared ring is going to look good with her G-SI1 solitaire, the James Allen ring will match much better. You could also contact them about making it with larger diamonds like the Jared ring; they can make sure it's a perfect fit with the solitaire.

The Whiteflash version that Feb03Bride posted would also be good and closer to the Jared ring in weight, but higher color/clarity diamonds (0.26ctw; F/G VS).

I agree with rubybeth, the Jared ring just isn't going to have the sparkle that you are looking for and personally I would not sacrifice quality for quantity. Here is another curved band with clean lines

If this isn't just what you are looking for you could always go custom, both whiteflash and Brian Gavin Diamonds could make the band for you
