Here is the stone: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-pink-asscher-spinel.106360/
I had a setting picked out. I actually sent the stone to be set. I found a seller on Etsy and contacted him about setting the stone in this ring. He agreed to adjust the ring as necessary for a smaller stone. Promised a refund if I didn''t like how it looked. Funny thing was that initially when I contacted him I wasn''t happy with his response. It was brief and didn''t answer all my questions. So I had been in contact with another etsy vendor. But she couldn''t find a similar ring and didn''t come up with anything that I liked. So a month or so later I contacted this seller again and noticed the prices had dropped on three rings of his that I liked. I contacted him and asked why and asked for another quote to set my stone in that specific ring linked above. He gave me a great deal - $400! That''s when he offered the refund if I didn''t like it. I sent the stone off. Communication was slim. If I inquired he would reply. He had some trouble recasting the ring for a smaller stone. Sent me some pics and we discussed. Had some more trouble. We discussed. He decided to recast the ring and showed me the wax. I agreed and didn''t hear from him for 10-14 days. Then yesterday I got notice of a shipment and refund. He said he injured his elbow and couldn''t do pave work. He tried to contract out the diamond setting, but the quotes were too high. So he was sending my stone back and refunding my money. I guess I can''t complain provided the stone comes back in the same condition. And I already got the refund. But I''m bummed about the lost time. ANd I REALLY liked that setting.
So I''m back to the drawing board. I don''t think I want a halo (as was suggested in previous threads). I really like the double row of diamonds on the band of this ring. The stones on the prongs are not a must. I can easily go without those. Any ideas? Thanks!
