Hi Everyone,

I'm on the search for the perfect channel set band for my ring stack. I am hoping you can help with all of your wisdom and knowledge to point me down the right path.

I currently have a 5 stone AVC band in platinum, it's a bit big so I have a smaller plain platinum band to keep it on during the colder months. I have been waiting for Jon at DG to get hold of some natural rough for me to upgrade this ring in size and colour - but we have been waiting since March without much luck. So I thought I could get started on the rest of my stack.

Morrie at Bev K are making me a petite french cut ruby band in Yellow Gold at the moment which I expect to be here next month. I'm excited for that pop of colour!

I am hoping to add a classic round brilliant channel set eternity band but am not sure which vendor to go with, or even that there are vendors I have not yet considered! I am cursed with an incredibly detailed eye, and so the slightest flaw drives me up the wall, so I am only looking at vendors I have seen mentioned positively on PS.

In the running are:

I'd also consider anything custom by CVB or VC but I don't have any picture examples of those.

Here is my AVC band and for reference, I am a size 4.25.

I appreciate any advice to help me narrow my search or any other pointers you may have.

Thank you!

I have a Tiffany 3mm channel set band. I never really cared for channel set until I saw this band! It is well executed, comfortable and doesn’t damage my ering in any way. I have no experience with the others from other vendors that you have mentioned. I am sure they are great as well - I was just able to try on the Tiffany band in person and I was sold! I don’t have a good picture of it alone but hopefully you get the idea from this picture.

HI:

Tiffany.

cheers--Sharon

I am also a really big fan of the 2mm Tiffany channel set band (it's my dream WB in YG). I have tried it on many times and love it every time.
This was when I was trying on the Rose gold 2mm half eternity with the 1.25ct harmony ring

I've always adored your band @MissGotRocks - so lovely to hear that it's exceeded all of your expectations. It looks so seamless and classy.

Thank you for the vote Sharon! It seems like Tiffany is winning by a landslide.

What a gorgeous pair they are together @emmy12 - I love the different metal colours. It sounds like I'm going to need to head to my nearest Tiffany store to try some pieces on.

Thanks @yssie , your opinion is so highly regarded here. I will be heading to Tiffany in Brisbane next weekend to take a look.

Another vote for Tiffany! It really does look perfect. Let us know what you think after you see it in person!

I've worn the Tiffany version since I married in 2001, and the quality and sparkle are amazing.

It seems like a unanimous landslide for Tiffany! If they have all three widths available, I'll try them all on and make some pictures. I think 2.5mm will be my sweet spot though.

+ a billion

Thank you @canuk-gal

Thanks @croqueusedediamants Would you mind posting any pictures of your band?

I've found this one online which I may consider once I've done the International shipping and taxes calculations. It's my size and the width I think I will want. Looks to be a reputable reseller.

Jealous of your tiny fingers!

I don't think I could take a sharp, in-focus picture of my rings if my life depended on it, but here is my approximation. The band is a half-eternity, and, according to my notes, .27 carat and 2.75 mm. It was purchased in 2001, and I don't think they make this exact version any longer. You can definitely see some wear, but it is 20+ years old. It looks crisp and clean in real life. It's quite cloudy today, so I have dim light for photography both indoors and out.

@yssie what would you say the differences are between your Leon Mege 101 channel set band, and a Tiffany band? I am interested in both but don’t know anyone else who has both / has seen both. :)

If you are looking for channel set full eternity, seems Tiffany discontinued that style. My local boutiques don’t have them and I don’t see them on their website either. They only have channel set bands in half eternity. Pre-loved might be an option though.

It might be something worth inquiring about specifically in store.

I've spoken with a SA/Manager at my local Tiffany store and I got the impression that there are things that can be custom ordered when it's wedding/engagement related. I was discussing the Harmony e-ring with her and trying to visualize it in yellow gold and she was able to show me on their in-house app their stock photos of the Harmony (solid band or with pave) in the various metals (Plat, RG, YG) that they could custom order. (Online it's they only have platinum solid, platinum pave, and RG solid) . I can't say with any certainty if this also applies for wedding bands and eternity bands, but it is worth going in person to ask if you have a local store.

ETA: the search function on the Tiffany site has been horrendously bad for finding their channel set bands. I've had to go hunting through various pages to find them. I can find them here https://www.tiffany.ca/jewelry/shop/eternity-rings/ but not on their Wedding Band page. Go figure. *shrugs*

Good information @emmy12. It’s definitely worth checking with your local boutique. I have the Legacy band which is on the page you linked. It’s a beautiful eternity band with bright cut or bead set pave. That might be another option @McLaren

For completeness, and to close this thread, I just wanted to thank everyone for their input above. I ended up purchasing a preloved T&Co full eternity (2mm) thanks to @jewels4life . Very happy with it - exactly the look that I was after.
