Just received second round of CADS from ERD. For background for first round of CADs can be found here - https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/first-round-cad-renderings-are-in-need-advice.201505/

I decided to move forward with a cushion halo with my RB center stone versus a round halo. The feedback or changes I requested-

1.) Right now the shape of the halo is throwing me off and looks like a square with rounded corners. I want the overall halo to be more rounded.

My thoughts: the shape is better but the corners look too sharp and need to be slightly rounded or smoothed.

2.) The halo also appears to have too much metal showing. I understand that CAD renderings typically look different than the final ring but I want to make sure there won't be so much showing. Please confirm if you're using the same size diamonds all the way around or planning to set graduating diamonds to fill in the metal.

My Thoughts - this seems to look better but would love to hear what others think. I know this is a CAD ring versus hang forged so I will always see more metal.

3.) Will the halo be angled down (tilted)? I would like for this to be the case.

My Thoughts - not sure this has been addressed

4.) I want the center stone and halo to bleed into each other (no space) and I don't want to introduce another design element that creates even more of distinction between the two shapes.

My Thoughts - definitely think this looks better. What'd ones everyone think of the prong setting versus bezel?

5.) I'd like to add melee to the donut so there's melee on both the stems and donut. - DONE

6.) I want to make sure that the Miligrain will be super fine and only be seen when looking closely at the ring. I want the Miligrain to add a bit of elegance to the ring without overpowering it.

My Thoughts - hard to tell from the CAD but I trust ERD that they will do a good job

7.) On the side profile shot I'd like to see a bit more curvature.

My Thoughts - looks better

8.) I would also like to get your opinion on slightly tapering the shank.

My thoughts - doesn't look like this was addressed. I just asked ERD for band specs and whether or not they recommend tapering the band at all.

Thanks!!!

I hate the pointed corners. I cannot remember if I posted in your earlier thread or another, but show them a picture of what you want the shape of the halo to be. I like the one below. It is what I consider a cushion shape.

Also, take the diamonds off the doughnut if you plan to wear a wedding band. The diamonds there will scratch the wedding band.

I also prefer prong setting such as in my photo above.

Not sure that the shank needs to be tapered, but how wide are they making it? It looks wider than my picture, but shank width really is personal preference.

Thanks diamondseeker2006.

Absolutely agree on the pointed corners and the pic you attached is exactly what I gave them. They definitely need to fine tune it a bit.

I confirmed the ring is tapered slightly from 2.2mm to 1.8mm. I personally don't see it and almost think it might make more sense to keep it all one width or make it wider at the top so I see it.

When you say you prefer the prong setting in the example picture what do you mean? Would you mind explaining the difference.

I'm struggling a bit because i expect creative input/suggestions from the artist but instead I'm just getting pictures with my feedback integrated verbatim. Maybe that's normal but I look to the artist as the expert. I understand it's all personal preference at the end of the day but a little input would be nice. I'm i being unreasonable?

Just my two cents - I like the band the way it is in the cad.
