I would take it one step further and wrap a rubber band around the gem jar crisscrossed and then put it in a baggie and tape the baggie shut until you reach your destination. I might even wrap the gem jar in a little bubble wrap before placing it in the baggie in case it get bounced around in your bag. I tend to over packaged and protect things though .I've never seen one like that! How does lid secure? I've found some with a metal clasp, but I'm paranoid I'll arrive to my destination with an open empty box in my purse.
I'm thinking in a zipper bag , then ziptie secured/anchored ..... i guess it's too risky trying to keep it in my pocket thru TSA...
Whatever you do, I recommend not making it look like a bag of drugs.
Omg!!! Were the treats for the stray cats there?
They were.
I wish I could say that they were “cute” and “I had a great time feeding them and playing with them”, but the reality was just completely heartbreaking - kittens barely old enough to walk with infected, woozy eyes and filthy fur, another handful of obviously-hungry cats at literally every street corner watching desperately for castoffs or rooting through rubbish. I cried so much over those cats.
We took a couple to the vet but of course that’s drops in the ocean. There were a bunch of other tourists also bringing cats in. Problem is so many people don’t have resources for basic living, and there are no government systems - no one’s got time or inclination to worry about the cats. There are also cultural mores against fixing (tampering with an animal’s natural state in that way) - end result is uncontrolled overpopulation... I’ve been looking into animal care organizations, there are a couple thatlook like they’re doing some really valuable work there!
