Hey all,

I recently found myself looking into the diamond world as I plan to propose to my gf by year end and stumbled across this wonderful site. I poured through a lot of posts and pictures and was amazed by all the knowledge and feedback available in this forum. So much to learn and honestly, I don't think I even scratched the surface.

My gf and I have been diamond shopping and she really liked the Tiffany's setting and round diamond the most from the 5 stores/retailers we've been to. I decided to narrow my search to WF ACA diamond on a Vatche U113 setting. I know WF ACA diamonds are suppose to take the majority of the work out and whichever diamond I pick will be beautiful. I just keep pouring through each image and couldn't decide on which diamond so I thought I would get some additional opinions.

I narrowed it down to 4 diamonds but I would like to narrow it down to 2 before asking a WF rep to show a side by side video comparison.

Which of the four diamond would you guys go for? Budget is under $25k and gf was a bit sensitive to the color so I was looking at EFG range. Or I'm open to other suggesstions as well (I think?)

Thanks in advance!

i'd go with #2 the F Vs1 - best value no need to pay more for clarity

i might even drop down to under 1.5 ct save more - you can always upgrade size in the future and it's a lower cost basis for their 1.5x orig spend $ requirement.

I love this option, it saves a couple thousand over the 1.54 F while looking identical in diameter to the naked eye.

I would throw this into the mix too: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-di...-vs2-clarity-round-excellent-cut-sku-a4731603

I am going to suggest this one too. Great specs for fire, an AGS graded diamond and still within your price range. Color and clarity over the top but ooh,la,la! Never hurts to put it in your video lineup!

Thanks everyone for the response. I was drawn toward the 1.54 and 1.541 from the video that was on the website. I'll reach out to Liza at WF and see if she can send me some comparison videos.

Doesn't hurt to have her add the 1.74 ct G into the comparison video so that you can see the color and size difference.

Yes, I agree! (obviously since I posted it ). I think that would be a noticeable size increase and is potentially worth considering dropping the color for. A G is still very white.

Oh, that's right, I should have done that! I didn't see the message before I sent out the email to Liza so I right now I only have the pictures/comparison for the 2 diamonds. Maybe I'll pick the one I like out of the two and then ask her to compare it with the 1.74 ct G afterwards.

I attached the pictures and videos that were sent over. The 1.541 ct E is on the left in the videos and pictures. I do notice a bit of a color difference in the diamond comparison on its side but none at all from the top.

I was browsing James Allen as well and came across this diamond with a "True Hearts" label.

Is it just me or does the ideal scope image on the JA diamond not look as "great" as WF? There's this ring of white around the arrow pattern in the JA diamond that isn't present in WF I linked above. Is it because a white background is used vs. black when the image was taken?

I would stick with Whiteflash. While you will notice that they are both GIA graded, the Whiteflash ACA diamonds also get the AGS report as the cut qualifies them for it. Just an added assurance of light performance quality.

Yes, you can see the color difference between and E and a F from the side only. In a six prong setting, that side color difference won’t be that noticeable. Just depends on how color sensitive you are to spend the extra money for the E. Top down is the way you will spend most of your time looking at the diamond. As you go up the color ladder, side view may be more important but not so much in E to F.

Real life viewing isn't against a white piece of paper either, that's designed to maximize the visible tint.

James Allen's "True Hearts" isn't comparable to a true "Super Ideal Cut" like those from Whiteflash, BGD, etc. They tend to be virtual inventory rather than in-house and they aren't looked at as carefully for symmetry, etc.

Got it, I'll stick with WF then, that's why I concluded as well after doing some more research online. I'm asked for a comparison video of the E vs G but my gf is color sensitive so I think eventually it'll be the 1.541ct E diamond that ends up getting picked! So excited!

Well, it is a beautiful diamond and she will be a lucky lady! We will wait to hear about your final decision from you so please keep us posted.

This is the video comparison for the 1.541ct E vs. 1.74ct G diamond. I think I notice the color more so in the G vs. the F.

Yes, not sure about the F as they are not side by side but the G has a bit more color than the E. It is a larger diamond though so that factors in as well. Still thinking you will choose the E?

Yea - I think so. After looking at the videos over again, I think I'm going to go with that 1.541 E diamond. The 1.74 while bigger wasn't too big of an upgrade so I may save a larger carat for a future upgrade.

Again, I appreciate everyone's help! Onward to the proposal planning. I'll update with pics once I get the diamond!
