Hi all,
I am desperately seeking help with trying to find my perfect stone. I have been looking for weeks, and seem to settle on one, then I read something else and get more confused, and find another one!
I am after a more rectangular cushion cut stone between 1-1.5 carat. E-G in colour, IF - VS1 clarity, eye clean, excellent - very good cut.
I was thinking of a halo setting, and want the ring quite low to my finger, so I was looking at finding a diamond with a lower depth, and larger table-however I am not sure if this is even right!
As I'm looking for diamonds online, and cant jet overseas to see the stone in person, I really need some help. Pictures and videos do help a bit, but I feel I need some expert opinions!

The first diamond I was considering is https://www.ritani.com/diamonds/cushion-diamond-1-14-Carat-F-color-GIA-certified/D-M7WRM9
Everything about this screams my perfect stone, however I am slightly worried about the very thin-extremely thick girdle.
The second one is https://www.ritani.com/diamonds/cushion-diamond-1-09-Carat-G-color-GIA-certified/D-M9NH1M
Can anyone advise me on if these are good diamonds? The $6K price is right on my budget for the stone, I could probably stretch to 6.5K.
I also found a few on B2C Jewels, but cannot paste the links - the details are:
Cushion Shape, 1.07 Carat, Excellent Cut, G Color, VS1 Clarity Diamond Stock No.: 4695104
Cushion Shape, 1.14 Carat, Excellent Cut, F Color, VVS2 Clarity Diamond Stock No.: 4798977- my worry is the very thin-extremely thick girdle
Cushion Shape, 1.10 Carat, Excellent Cut, G Color, VVS2 Clarity Diamond Stock No.: 4805357 - again I'm worried about the girdle width

I am open to any other suggestions, opinions, information etc please!!! Which one of the above stones would you recommend if any?
I have also heard that even a stone with a thick girdle can be hidden/covered by the setting.

Thanks so much for any responses-it's so hard to pick when you can't see the sparkle in person!!!

What is your budget? Since you are overseas I would probably reach out to a vendor who can hand hold you a bit more through the process who are known for cushions. Since it looks like you want a modern cut cushion I would reach out to Good Old Gold and Engagment Rings direct.

For me I absolutely don't care for the cushions you posted. It is personal preference but crushed ice cushions (sorry I'm looking on my phone at the pictures and they looked crushed ice to me, let me know if I"m wrong) dont do it for me. The facet pattern is too panic and chaotic for me. Once again though total personal preference. Some people love the splinterly look plus they also tend to be cheaper which can be a big bonus especially when cushions face up smaller then other shapes like MRBs.

Still if you aren't in a rush I would really reach out to ERD and GOG and see what they have in your price range. I would drop down to anything anything that is eyeclean. It seems you want a really white cushion so I would stay in the range you are comfortable D-E-F. Most will say you can drop down to I and still be safe, it is really up to you. I like GOG and ERD because they will shoot videos and provide assets for you on their cushions. It should help make you pick the perfect cushion much easier.

And I would not be too worried about the thin to thick girdle. Especially if you set it in a halo but a competent jeweler. I usually am worried when the cushion is xthin to thin that causes me concern.

When cushions are flat and shallow they are more spready but they are also duller and have less fire than a well cut deeper one.

Good Old Gold, and James Allen are great suggestions as is Engagement Rings Direct. Love Affair Diamonds and Jewels by Grace, Old World Diamonds and Victor Canera if you look at a few of them and decide you want an olden cut one. Gypsy and some of the gurus here should be able to make some suggestions in budget for a modern well cut cushion.

I am an Aussie as well - things you also need to keep in mind is when you do currency exchanges currently you will lose just over 10% because you are buying in US dollars. You also need to be aware there is 10% extra tax on anything you buy when it comes into the country and you need to get a free trade agreement declaration from the vendor that the item was made in the US to pay the 10% otherwise customs here charge you 15%.
