Hello :wavey:,
I have this suite of indicolite tourmalines cut by Jeff White I purchased from LT a while ago, and am thinking of having them set in a three stone ring.
I’d love help with design inspirations if anyone has seen a design that would work well for the shapes of these stones.

I only have a few ideas saved and so far this one is my favorite. With the longer length of my center stone, I think I would need to set my center north/south.
Sorry I didn’t note who this beauty belongs to and can’t give credit!

Or maybe something along these lines with a faux bezels to let more light in my stones. I would like diamonds added in some way though…

Any inspo pics or suggestions are very much appreciated!

I'm not the most creative person here, so I'll let the pros come and assist. But I just wanted to say... STUNINNG! Oh and I like the last inspo design too. Have fun!

Thank you! I think this trio was cut quite a while ago and has had a couple of homes before mine, so it’s time to finally have them set!

After I made my post, I actually remembered that you have a gorgeous inspiration piece! Your purple garnet and fancy yellow diamond ring! It is similar to the idea I had in my mind and was trying to describe using my first inspiration picture. I absolutely love your ring!

I do like the idea of the last design too. I would do faux bezels and then prong set the stones. The metal around the stones would provide a little protection around the edges tourmalines, which would be nice since I always think of tourmaline as a little fragile. I do wonder if that design would make the tourmalines darken up more so than a basket prong set design like the first one. I would also need to figure out how to add diamonds to that design.

I think you could take inspiration from so many cushion three stones on PS. I like a simpler design to keep the focus on the stones usually, with engraving or just really beautiful metal work. Maybe with a two tone platinum gallery and yg shank. It would keep the focus on the stones. Add a pretty galley and tab prongs. Voila!

Yes! I'm so glad to hear you like it!! The stones are really pretty, and Inken did an impeccable job setting everything, as always. But I guess it's not particularly innovative (on my part) design-wise. :loopy:

Someone posted a thread a while back asking what was on our wish lists. And I replied that I'm done buying and just trying to set what I have. But one thing that had been on my list, and I never found the right one, was either an indicolite or teal sapphire. So I'm rather interested to see the end result here! I love that they're radiant cut. What color metal are you thinking about using? I think a case could be made for any of them (including black rhodium/ruthenium). I figure a white metal would give it that traditional, icy look and rose would be a nice, warm contrast. I tend to like yellow gold least with blues, but that's just me. Because it's teal though, you could pull it off.

I'm partial to a three stone. A thin bezel would really highlight the shape, and not take away from the cut. I'm pretty biased though because here's mine: DKPV2021___03__02____75821____75821.jpg

This would be my suggestion too, more bling could be added with a micro pave around each stone if the overall width allows with the centre stone in North-South orientation.

DK :))

Oh, and I'd for sure go north south on the center stone. I think the proportions would be great! DK's suggestion of micro pave is something to consider as well--would highlight the color of the stones without being overwhelming. I can't wait to see what you decide!

These are great suggestions! I forgot about the three stone threads and will have to browse them and see if anything jumps out at me. I love your idea of adding engraving!

Yours is a classic beauty! I’ve always loved a three stone with a diamond band!

I’m thinking of going with my usual white gold. Rose gold or yellow gold would look great too, but white gold is what I reach for the most. I’m trying to make everyday, casual wear pieces, since I rarely “dress up”.

I hope you find your perfect teal stone someday! I know when you do, it will be amazing!

Your ring is gorgeous! The bezels emphasize the shape of the stones perfectly and I love the fine milgrain. You must get so much enjoyment wearing your beautiful ring!

This would be my suggestion too, more bling could be added with a micro pave around each stone if the overall width allows with the centre stone in North-South orientation.

A micro pave halo following in the shape of the stone would look amazing! My first instinct is always to halo a stone, but I thought I might try something different this time. A design with a halo vs a design without a halo will give such different looks, it will be a hard to decision to make!

A nice design element in the shoulders with diamonds or other colored gems could be nice.
