Seems Like a different Diamond

Well today I took my loose diamond in to be mounted into a Jeff Cooper setting with side baguettes and I am a little bit disappointed. The ring looks beautiful and I am certain my intended will love it. The problem is when the diamond was still loose and I used to stare at it for hours at home under led lighting or sunlight it was both sparkly and very firery. In the mount however it is primarily sparkly. The fire seems to have gone. I am currently out of town so my light source is the compact fluorescent bulbs that the hotel uses. I hope this is the reason for the fire loss and at home it will once again come fully alive. I spent considerable time looking and shopping for just the right stone and tonight I feel kind of deflated. As a loose stone I was very excited and proud of the fruits of my labor. Any advice would be appreciated.

The stone is AGS 000 strong hearts and arrows 1.10 ct
Table 55.3
depth 62
crown angle 34.9
Pavillion angle 40.7
star angle 50

Thanks!

Is it clean?

Absolutely. It came freshly steamed from the jeweler and I recleaned it twice already.

You've louped it and it's the same stone. And it's clean.

I'd wait till you are in 'normal' lighting conditions.

That is totally expected cfl is a fire killer. It is very flat.
When you get it home under led and sunlight it will look like you remembered.

Ditto the above, I don't think you have a problem, once you are home and in the lighting where you first saw the stone, all will be well I am quite sure! Many congratulations on your purchase, it definitely looks like you did your homework, should be a fabulous diamond! :wavey:

I agree with the other posters about lighting but I do want to make a comment.

It seems possible to me that a setting can affect a RB.
I just got my ACA back- reset from a very plain, thin, open prong setting. It is now in a halo where it has a ring of white gold around it and is partially enclosed. It is giving off more intense color now and I can clearly see the arrows. It looks fantastic.
Did Ritani sprinkle magic dust on it? or is it the setting.

It is my 2nd ACA and I had been slightly disappointed that it was not quite as fiery as my first one, [which also was set in a setting with lots of white gold around it]. It now looks as amazing as I thought it should.

???

Happy to report that I went outside the hotel into the partly sunny day and it is once again back on fire!!!
