1C2F073C-25BD-4F88-AA3D-5FA887892CB5.jpeg Hi all, as you know I acquired a massive amount of gems.
I have 2 very well matched 9mm (2.98 and 2.94) round blue sapphires which I did consider setting in earrings but now I’m “meh”.
I just don’t think I’ll wear them enough. I don’t think a plain stud setting would do them justice and the cost of a diamond halo mount is more than I can afford now I have the opal earrings (which I adore) which I will put into diamond halos.
How do other PSers price their gems needing rehoming?
I see James Allen is offering similiar size (heated) for around $10,000 each, so is $5,000 each a fair price?
I will get reports for them prior to selling.

If I were you, I'd get AGL reports on both of them, and then make up my mind as to whether/which to keep and/or sell -- an informed decision is always best -- just my 2 cents.

I'm crazy about sapphires. If they are well matched, I'd have them certified. I'd be hard pressed to give them up unless you need to.

3cts is a perfect size fior a ring. At minimum, I'd keep one and make a ring (I have a 2.5ct round set as a threestone with .60 each sides that I love).

What about keeping one, and using it as a pendant?

Not sure how big your opal earrings are and whether halo jackets is an option. If yes you can switch the jacket between stones and keep everything?

I think they are beautiful n will try selling as a pair before breaking them up. Good pairs are hard to find. Good luck with your sale!

It's really hard to find a good pair and your 2 belong together! I'd get the cert and then decide. If they were mine I'd keep them until something comes up.

If you are just meh on them why not cert and sell to fund some adventures with the rest of your cache :) if selling together can bring you a premium that would be great but if not then maybe just sell one and keep the other for a while in case you have seller's remorse :Up_to_something2:

Send them to the US, certify them and then send them to someone like Jewels by Grace or one of the other places on consignment so you don't have to pay any taxes to get them back again. Someone like David Atlas might charge a minimum fee to hold them and help broker a deal as the middle man and reshipping he could also write a valuation for any potential buyers if you don't want to send them to AGL. It is harder to find pairs of stones like this but you will possibly sell them faster on your own splitting them up.

I would not sell them, because a pair of sapphires, round, and saturated, are rare, and a pair costs more. I am looking for a pair for my sapphire for earrings, it is similar, or I can buy a pair and sell mine. Question, are they heated, or not?

P.S. I once bought a pair of Mahenges, and sold one. Time has shown it was a mistake.
