Do you have a better pic? Thank you!

USPS tracking showed the ring as delivered at the mailbox and I was so excited to come home from work to see it. But only to find out that my husband picked up mail and did not see any parcel!! We went back to the mailbox and checked all around and didn’t see anything! So upset. Has this happened to anyone before and they still got the parcel??? What do people do??

I had this happen and the parcel showed up the next day. You should also ask any neighbors if you have any.

I’ve had that happen. You can try calling or visiting the post office and they can track it down.

You can also open a case with the post office. They will investigate. Was signature not required?

It happened to me recently, and it turns out the package was still at the post office. I filed a report online, and that evening someone from the main post office in town actually called me. I was astounded—happily surprised at their follow-through. I hope you have similar good luck.

I've had the delivered, but showed up next day many times too.

I will wait for one more day! Just checked FAQ usps and they require 24 hours from said delivery date to file a claim.

It is kind of my fault for overlooking this. I buy online quite often and quite a few times on PS preloved forum and always received them with a signature required. I just assumed it was shipped so but it was not! The tracking showed they left it at the mailbox. I would be very traumatized if I don’t receive the ring. It’s not cheap (expensive) for me.

thank you so much. I will file a report.

omg, that's devastating.... always my biggest fear. Good luck with everything.

Update:
It has been quite a roller coaster ride today. I was trying to figure out the delivery situation during every bathroom break and my lunch break from work.

It turned out that the address seller wrote down might be wrong (I provided the correct info). Instead of *3**, *2** May have been used. I was searching which house that was and of course it was for sale. I contacted the listing agent. And filed a claim on USPS website as some of you suggested.

I was quite surprised that within 2 hours or so USPS local office called me back. They said that it was delivered successfully to the address written on the parcel, BUT it’s not *3** or *2**. Legally they cannot tell me what the address is to protect the individual living there. Only thing They can do is to have their carrier go to this house and try to get the parcel back and redeliver it. But they also told me that if the owner of the house denies it. There is nothing they can do!

I was quite upset to be honest about it. I know some of y’all who are bubbly and outgoing may just knock on all your neighbor’s houses on the street to check. But This introvert will have anxiety through the roof if that had to be done.

3 hours later the post office called again! And told me that the carrier was able to retrieve and redeliver the parcel because the owner of the other house didn’t pick up mail last night!!!!!

Thank God!!! So now I finally have my ring. The address was written as *1**.

Hope my experience could help some of you when you buy preloved in the future.
Don’t just assume like me! Very dumb of me in this transaction.

Be very specific so that both you and seller would be on the same page.
Not blaming anyone but i could very well be out of a lot of money and without a ring and there is nothing I could do about it.

I assumed that it would be shipped with a signature but it was not. And tracking doesn’t show address delivered to. So it’s a good idea to Double check and triple check the address before it gets sent out. Probably a good idea to request a photo of the parcel when it is shipped.

I also assumed that there would be a ring box as it was shown with a ring box on the pic but there wasn’t. Not a big deal as I have some spare ones. But if you wanted one when you buy preloved, probably should confirm prior.

Anyways Sorry for the long post. I am very thankful I finally got my ring! Been wanting a gypsy ring for a long time.

And USPS service gets A+ in this case!

I’m so happy you got the ring!!! I was so anxious reading the update, I can’t imagine how you felt anyway I hope you can love and enjoy it. I was so tempted to purchase it myself!

@Snowbebe so glad you got your ring. What a stressful experience. On the ring box, I’ve read a number of posts on PS where people are discouraged to ship jewelry in obvious boxes to avoid theft. However, it should have been communicated. Glad things worked out on the delivery front though.

So happy it finally arrived to you! That is why I have my husband double check the address of the recipient with me. I also take a picture before mailing. I’m a little over the top but I am always nervous about shipping. I also always send signature required for both of our safety.
All’s well that ends well. :)

Thank goodness it worked out! So scary! But just curious, since the address was written incorrectly how did you “prove” to USPS that you were the correct recipient?

Yes, agree! I always ask if people want one. I use a packing envelope and tape that inside the box to obscure the shape and keep it more secure - hopefully.

@Snowbebe I'm so glad your package was found!! What a nightmare!

I do just want to say, I have had experiences when packages were sent to me, or sent by me, as signature required, and the PO didn't actually collect a signature. Just left the package. So even that isn't foolproof in the end. :/

That is actually a good question!
I provided my address, sender’s address, tracking number, what it was, type of mail, whether it was insured and what the value was.

No other questions were asked. Nobody checked my identity. It does seem that for a super clever scam artist, it might not be difficult to trick USPS to get another person’s parcel.

Just a couple of weeks ago the DHL courier was perfectly willing and fine to drop off my express shipping signature required package without taking my signature. I insisted on signing, but a dishonest person could easily claim they never received the package and… yeah.

Crazy, right? Like, we are paying extra for this service, people. Makes me furious every time.
