Selling Emerald Ring

This ring was purchased in 1995 for $6,400 and I have the paperwork. It is currently a size 6 3/4 - 7.
I took it to a reputable jeweler to see what it was worth now. The gemologist confirmed the emerald size, confirmed that it was genuine and said I should ask at least $3000 and could probably get more at auction, which seemed complicated to me with the time frame, fees, etc.
I am considering offering it on Loupe Troop and see if there is any interest.
Anyone have thoughts on this?

That is a sizable emerald. One of the biggest factors in pricing is knowing the level of treatment the emerald has had. To know with certainty, you would need a report from a reputable lab. This would help you secure the highest sale price. It is a statement ring and that emerald looks huge!
