The unheated tanzanite is a sort of honey brown colored stone depending on the lighting. I asked Jaimeen about heating it and he said it would probably become a light to medium bluish purple stone, but of course heating a stone is always a gamble. He said it would not become the deep bluish purple color that most are looking for in a tanzanite, hence the low price. Here is another photo of the stone with my hand to compare the color to my skin. I think the stone would look much better when it is set.

I actually really love the color of it, I wouldn't dream of having it heated...hmm I may have to try and convince the hubs this is a good "investment" even though I have no idea what I would do with it!

For you, what is the best stone you will going to use as your engagement ring? :) :naughty:

I think you are asking what I think the best stone would be for an engagement ring? I can't answer that because colored stones are strickly personal taste. As far as wearability, sapphires, chrysoberyls and spinels (worn with caution) all are candidates for engagement rings.

My personal engagement ring is currently (I've been know to change - lol) is a blue sapphire, but I switch up all of my colored stone rings and wear them on my left hand from time to time.

Azstonie,

Yes, I ship from within the US.

You will have to contact me via DB or LT so I have your email address to send the invoice. We aren't supposed to put emails on here. Just use the email address on the LT listing. Also be sure to put your PS name so I know who you are :-)

Hi colorluvr, I'm thinking about the tourm, I'm not sure it will fit in the setting I've got...

I'm surprised no one has picked it up, good green color and cushions look good on most fingers.

Thanks Azstonie - yes, it is a pretty color, but I have several greens and no setting for this one.
