This stone needs a little love. My husband surprised me with it (unset) when we had our first little windfall as a married couple. He went to our diamond wedding jeweler to source it. It is not a top specimen by any means, but it’s important to me. I’d like to resurrect it.

I had it set in this very heavy bezel pendant. It flips and rolls. I never wear it. The stone has a window, and as I learned more about CS through the years, I liked it less and less.
How can I best show off this stone? I’d prefer a pendant or bracelet. I could definitely do a ring, but I think I would wear it more often as a bracelet or pendant.

Should I get it recut? I don’t care about carat weight or size.

Two pics in different lighting:

I have one very similar - not set in a bezel though and only has tilt windows. I think yours has better colour then mine.
I can’t wear mine as it’s set in silver.
I think yours would make a very pretty ring. I find I don’t get to enjoy looking at the stone in a pendant.
As mine was made as a gift I’m hoping to hand it down to my daughter rather then have it remade.

If you decide to recut, the worry would be mostly about the color. Its already quite a light ring so, could end up lighter. Is that OK with you? I would send to someone who's very good at doing recuts and see what they would be able to tell you.

Love the idea with pearls! And love the story :love::love:

Adding another idea... I have a string of 7.5-8.5mm freshwater pearls (multicolor) that need to be restrung sometime...

I think yours is a much better color! I do think it would make a great sized ring, but I just have a handful of RHRs now, and I am having trouble rotating them as it is.;-) My teen girls would be much more likely to enjoy a bracelet or pendant, so I also want to take that into consideration (more wear in the light of day).

Oh! I didn’t know that. No, I don’t necessarily want it to be lighter. But I’d like to maximize performance. Someday I will get a top-shelf Aqua (it’s actually my son’s birthstone!), but I know what the score is with this one. “It is what it is,” as they say. I’m just interested in having it reach its potential. And maybe that just means closing out the setting in the back? I’m not sure.

Aside from Dan Stair (current wait: 8 weeks), who else would you recommend? I’m in no hurry for the finished piece, but I’d love to get things rolling once I decide on the vision!
