I'm getting an AVC 4.5ct stone cut by DG and am agonising over which setting to get.
Stone approx 4.5 ct square H. Finger size 8.5
My go to for the setting will be either SK or DK.
Halo, either M2Bs by SK or Wintottys by DK
Plain, similar to Wintottys by LM, will have DK replicate.
Pave band/basket, the Preciosa by SK

I love soliatires but just a little unsure if it will be a tad too plain, I don't intent on wearing another band at this stage. But on other hand will I tire of the halo or extra bling

Would love any suggestions or feedback

It’s such a difficult call! I love solitaires and 4.5ct is a great size. On the other hand, my ering is 3.35ct on a size 5.5US finger and I went from always wanting a solitaire to getting myself a double halo setting with a pave band, though plain basket. And the coverage is stellar! I haven’t received it officially yet but when I saw it on my finger once it was ready it made my heart throb. I think halos can look really stunning.

I think it just comes down to what “feels right” to you, to be honest!

What does the diamond measure? With a finger size 8.5 you can carry off a larger setting without it looking odd, and I have yet to know someone who tired of too much bling on their finger. :)

Links to these settings would be helpful

No thread on my AVC SK halo setting but more photos can be found here (please scroll down):

So debating between double and single prong?

IMHO go with as many prongs as the size of your stone allows. Looks luxe and makes a statement without being overly decorated. But that’s my style and may not be yours. :)

Also IMHO pave is begging to be lost. Yes I know these vendors are super pave artists but still for a ring this substantial I think more metal is better.
