I would love some help with setting ideas for this stone. It's 1.15 ct, 5.5x7.5. (Purchased from HiGems)

I tend to wear rings and necklaces more than bracelets and tend to be minimalist. I have considered a halo pendant with 0.005 ct diamonds but I've always wanted a round pendant like that and I'm not sure this would scratch that itch!

Halo in a ring sounds lovely. That beautiful colour deserves to be seen by you all the time rather than pendant.

Oh this is just GORGEOUS. I love pears, hope to own one like this one day!

I would do something like this Ritani...simple halo. It could be dressed up with a little milgrain.

I think this sapphire could look lovely in platinum or yellow gold, it depends on what you wear more!

What lovely compliments! Thank you both. Obviously it's not a huge stone but for an unheated stone I think it was reasonably priced so I jumped at the chance to buy it!

I do like that pear setting. I mostly wear platinum/WG. I'm thinking a very thin bezel between stone and halo to give it more presence/finger coverage.

I have a pear blue sapphire in a solitaire. Just another option, as you say you tend to be minimalist. Btw, your sapphire is gorgeous. :)

This is gorgeous, and the halo isn’t “eating” the stone as some halos do (I have plenty where the halo is too big).

Whatever you decide, make sure you have, at the very least, a v-tip prong, or if not, at least four prongs. Pears are often only set with three prongs, which makes them less secure (I learned this the hard way).

Beautiful stone! Good luck on your project!

Very pretty stone -- congrats!

(No help on the design.)

Thanks so much everyone. And really, thank you for the compliments on the stone. You all are such a discerning crowd that it truly feels like high praise (even though I did nothing other than spend $). I think I am leaning towards a plain halo (although I love the graduated idea but need to mull it over some more) with a pavé band for a right hand ring. Life circumstances will probably keep me at home for a while more, so it will help to have some pretty bling.

The French jeweler, Chaumet has a beautiful collection that features pear stones. Some rings have halos but here are two without.
