Hi. If I have a diamond that measures 6.20-6.25mm and 1.01 carats in weight. I need a new setting for it. Would it fit into a setting that says fits a stone between
0.75-1.00 carats in weight?
My second question is my current setting is a size 61/2 and my fingers have grown out of it and I’m a size 8 now. Can a jewelry store make a ring that’s 6.50 in size to a size 8 or would that be to hard on the 14k gold?
I’m trying to figure out all my options here. I don’t have the money now to do my jewelrs exchange program where you trade in the ring you bought from them and they put the amount of money it’s worth to a ring that’s more money. Some day in the future I’m hoping to do that. So I either have them make my current setting bigger or I’m try to buy a cheap setting to put my current diamond in and when I lose the weight , switch it back to my original setting that doesn’t fit anymore. Because I am in love with my current setting. It’s an AJAFFE 18k white gold trellis setting. However, the mistake I made when buying my ring , being a newbie and not knowing about this site, is my diamond is too wide so it looks a lot smaller to the eye than the 1.01 carats it’s appraised at. I was thinking that if I bought a cheap setting that’s a halo to put my diamond in and see if I like it better because it looks bigger. Even when my fiancé proposed to me we both were like wow it looks smaller than in the store.

Yes if a RB will fit in a lot of different designs that say for up to 1ct stones.
Halo depending on design may or may not be one of them. Some of them have a very small mm range they will fit.
Your jeweler should be able to sort that out for you.
