Settings, settings and more settings (and a plea for help!)

Like others, I decided that I really needed to buy settings and not more gemstones! So the result is 2 x LOGR and 3 x lanbo4 and recycling of another setting! The LOGRs arrived today but the lanbo4's are still being made. Here are my plans ......

This first setting is one that I have wanted forever from LOGR. I thought that this ring was going to be really substantial and huge but it's not. It's much less wide than I thought it would be but on the plus side the diamonds (I didn't upgrade) are GORGEOUS! This is a very sparkly ring.

I want to put a bigger stone in it and rather than ask LOGR I decided to have it done locally. I'm going to put a Paraiba Tourmaline in it that's currently in the world's worst setting and so never gets worn! To give you an idea of size, I've popped in a loose Umbalite for you to see what it'll look like with a bigger centre stone.

PLEA FOR HELP: If anybody can Photoshop, can you please pop my Paraiba into the empty setting so I can see what it looks like? xxx

Here are my plans for the Umbalite.

This is a recycled setting! I love the setting itself and these are white sapphires (not diamonds) but they perform beautifully. At the moment, the central stone is a Chrome Diopside that's waaaaaaay too small for the setting and if my measurements are right, the Umbalite will sit in the centre with no airline. That's the plan anyway!!!

Next is another pear setting from LOGR. I seem to have a ton of pears - no idea why!!!!!

The diamonds are okay in this setting (again, I didn't upgrade). They perform ok but they're not stunning. Certainly good enough for the price I paid and also good enough to wear so all's good!

Not sure whether to put in the Spess or a Purple Sapphire (it is purple but for some reason has photographed very blue). The Spess looks a better fit than the Sapphire but I'm not sure ...........

Last one and thanks for bearing with me this far!!!

So, these are the settings I'm waiting for from lanbo4.

I've already got one of his triple halos and I love it - super white/sparkly diamonds, so I have great hopes for this one. I toyed with the idea of a yellow gold basket and claws but decided against it at the last minute.

The middle one is for my Tsav from Swala. I like the profile of this setting and I'm not convinced how the Tsav will look when set so this is one that's definitely going to be a wait and see one! If the Tsav doesn't fit, I'm sure I'll find something to go into the empty setting!

Lastly, this is the one that I'm SUPER excited about. This setting is being custom made to fit my Paraiba (which is a bit one at 11x9). I'm having it done in all white gold rather than having a yellow basket. He's charging me a fortune to make the changes so this one had better be good! I'm also hoping that having a tiny basket underneath will help minimise the huge window of the Paraiba. If it doesn't then I'll have a more substantial basket built underneath!

How pretty all of these are going to be! I prefer the spessartite to the sapphire in the pear setting, but either would look very nice. Looking forward to seeing all of the finished products!

Those are going to be awesome!!!!!!! Love the last Paraiba setting - I just got that setting in the stock size and it's fabulous!

You're going to set one of my favorite stones on this forum, the paraiba tourmaline!! FINALLY!! That stone deserves to be loved, worn and adored, and you can always use it for alien visitors to signal them on earth since you can probably see the glow from space!!

LTP - I can't believe I missed that setting in your thread AND you were/are thinking of setting a stone of almost the same colour in it! Great minds think alike!
