Settings with pave prongs or hidden halo - pros/cons?

Been thinking of upgrading quite a lot lately, including my setting. Currently have a plain cathedral that I like quite a bit because my eternity band sits flush and is very comfortable. I’ve also been thinking of how to make a plain cathedral setting more interesting and was looking at pave prongs and/or hidden halos or a surprise diamond on the side. Not sure if they rub against the eternity band and that could be an issue? Or if plain band and pave prongs would look weird? Or anything else to consider? Pics below of examples. 4608BAAD-D7FF-4550-A1AE-8DA86CE22BC3.png 3DF05819-C9CC-48C8-9075-957E5BBC6C3C.jpeg0A5EBCCA-7634-4D32-B00E-41A880BE0935.png0A5EBCCA-7634-4D32-B00E-41A880BE0935.png

Personally, I would leave your ring as is. I feel adding all that extra stuff takes away from your eternity band. The way you have it now allow both the e ring and the band both stand out. I think adding all that is just too busy and everything gets drowned out. I think it you were to wear those embellished e ring mountings they shouldn’t be worn with a band so all the intricate details will be visible. If you wear one of those with a band you won’t even see it because it will be covered up. I also think some of those embellished styles will go out of style or you will tire of it… the classic one you have will always be a classic. Just my opinion. Can you post a photo of your ring with your band?

I appreciate your feedback. I’m contemplating upgrading my stone to a larger lab grown diamond but was thinking of taking the opportunity to upgrade my setting as well to something with earth diamonds but your points give me a lot to think about. This is what I currently have now (2nd and 3rd pic) I am also playing with the idea of upgrading my eternity band to a 2ct from the 1ct earth diamond (first pic is the larger eternity band). I added the picture of that too. I do also think my engagement ring band is a little thick. The final pic I am also sort of liking the look of multiple bands. Obviously I have a lot of thoughts going on lol!29CCEA3A-7374-44C6-9467-479268D68B5F.jpeg2734B81E-092E-467B-AB33-8A3D49C7A331.jpegFB0CB559-3F7A-44B8-A3C6-758962E43C43.jpeg

Hi! Your rings are SO pretty. I think it’s a huge mistake to get rid of your natural diamonds for lab grown (I’m assuming you would be getting rid of the original diamond?). A natural diamond is rare and will always hold its value. The shanks on my rings are a little wider than those narrower ones out there (I have to get the CLIQ shank that opens and closes because of my large knuckle issues) and, surprisingly, I get compliments on them (see avatar) all the time. If you don’t want to wear your band your e ring is a standalone. What do you think of purchasing a lab grown in a larger size that is a 2nd ring for when you want to wear something larger?
What is the size of your natural diamond? What size were you thinking of upgrading to?

So my solitaire is actually a 1 ct Amora Gem (moissanite but its pretty isnt it?) and my eternity band are natural diamonds. Def keeping the eternity band, just considering a larger ct size. But I was thinking of swapping the moissy for a 1.5 ct lab grown diamond as my e-ring with maybe changing the setting to something with earth pave diamonds as well. I'm just not familiar with issues with having pave on the prongs or a hidden halo. Sorry if I did not explain that well!
