Sharks dying out !

I desided to post this because I know alot of you live in California or places near oceans. This article is so intresting to read...

Am I weird I get so sad at the fact of a great beautiful animal like the Great white Shark becoming extinct.

Im just used to going to highschools and talking to kids about saving sharks...They are not mindless killers who think about eating ONLY.

Absent "Jaws" I kind of doubt sharks would be in this much trouble.




Not so long ago, every time there was a shark attack (usually an accident, as the poor shark mistook the human swimmer for a seal), the local public would panic and there would be a huge shark hunt in which professional fisherman would rush out and kill every shark they saw for a few weeks.




Supposedly humans kill 1000 sharks for every shark that kills a human. Orlybear can correct me on this.




It's too bad. When you're talking about evolutionary perfection, you'd be hard put to find a better example than a shark.

Yeah Sharks really hate the taste of human flesh and most attacks are accidenal or sharks killing because they think we are a threat or evern competetion. The thing about humans killing 1000 sharks for every shark that kills a human that really depends on where you live. But all around more humans are killed by dogs then Sharks.

Yeah its so sad when someone was attacked fishermen would search the area killing any sharks in the area assuming they were the shark that attacked the person when the real shark is probaly miles away.

Shark fossils date from 300 million years ago these animals have been around years and are meant to stay.

I think it's tragic, too. I live those long-lived, regal animals.

In general, we're doing horrific things to the inhabitants of the oceans. Pretty much anything we fish, we overfish, not to mention global warming and pollution. Fish populations are crashing world wide.

Disrupting the food chain effects all of us. Wait till they finish off the last whale and see what starts happening.

The Japanese are the worst at both of these killings. They kill the shark for only its fins and drop the shark back into the
ocean to die. My favorite group of people are the sea shepherds

I dive and have been around sharks, they don't bother you. The great white on the other hand

, I will not miss him if he goes.
That one is unpredictable and is dangerous. But , extinction of any animal is not a good thing.

Iceman,Which types of sharks have to swam with? Ive swam with sooo many...

By the way I would be sooo sad if the great white died...I mean all sharks can be unpredictable...I have swam with them never one bite once. But I love all sharks.

It is really sad. The extinction of any animal is tragic in and of itself, but the long-term ramifications of what it means for the eco-system (of which we are a part of) is frightening.

No im serious they really dont prefer Human flesh. I am a psycho though I love all sharks even the ones who have bit me...weird?

Sharks are amazing creatures. They haven't changed in millions of years and now they are dying off. It's a shame. They don't reproduce very quickly and when they are gone, our ecosystem will feel it. Scavengers and predators are needed to make the ecosystem work right, as they found out in Yellowstone after removing all the wolves.
