Sharper Image Ultrasonic cleaner - do I change the liquid each time?

Hi,
I just received my refurbished Sharper Image Deluxe Ultrasonic cleaner the other day. I purchased it off of Ebay. My package came with a free cleaning solution kit! Not sure if I just got lucky, or if it is supposed to come with it? Anyway, I used it for the first time last night, and left the liquid in the blue container afterwards. Should I empty right away or do you guys reuse it?

My diamonds came out really clean, but it seemed like it left a slight film on my platinum band part. I did the spraying with Windex and rinsing afterwards, like you guys suggested.

For those of you who have this/use it, please give me more tips. Do you just put your jewelry on the bottom of the blue container? Do you guys usually use the basket? My basket comes in the bigger container (for the silver jewelry, I think). How often should I use this? Weekly? How much do you put in there? I put my two stud earrings, my e-ring, wedding ring, and threw in my husband''s wedding band too. Is that too much?

the thread lorelei is a great one. I do remember Missgotrocks saying her lid got yucky and it was b/c she didn''t change the cleaning solution each time. I think most of the gals rinse out the container and let it dry between each use.

I bought one and love it. I only use it once every week or two. And I do dump the liquid and rinse the container each time. Part of it though is I store it under my bathroom sink in my room and I have small kids. I don''t want them drinking it! And I figure with that long between uses I dont'' want the solution to gunk up.

i dump and rinse it each time too. also yes read that huge thread about SI cleaners as there is a ton of tips on solutions to mix at home (mine doesnt leave a film!) and how to take care of the cleaner. good luck!

Since I make my own cleaning solution, I dump it out and rinse the tank. If I didn''t make my own solution, I''d still dump the solution into a jar or something rinse out the cleaning unit. When I''d want to clean again, I''d pour the solution into it. The cup IS plastic and why take a chance?
