My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary this past July. He told me he wanted me to pick out a piece of jewelry to celebrate. Of course I ran with that. ;) Originally I wanted to get larger diamond stud earrings because I wear my current studs every day. I knew that I wanted Super Ideal so I started looking at Whiteflash and HPD. I spoke with Wink and emailed back and forth with Layla. I live in Austin so they arranged to send some options to John Pollard in Dallas so I could see them in person. What a treat that was! He was so knowledgeable and fun!

However, I decided that day that I wanted to be able to enjoy the diamond and wouldn't be able to see them very often if they were in my ears. :) So, I changed course and decided to go for an upgrade diamond ring. (I'm not sure that was what my husband was originally planning on but he was on board after seeing the CBI stones in person.)

So, after many phone calls with Layla (and a couple with Wink) I decided on the diamond and with Layla's help customized the setting. I just got the email tonight, my new ring will be here on Wed! I can barely keep it together. :lol-2:

I will post hand shots when I get her but here are the gorgeous photos that @LaylaR sent me tonight. Thank you to Layla for being so patient with me.

Thanks everyone! In my excitement I totally forgot about posting the diamond stats.

It's a 2.31 J SI1. My current stone is a 1.32 F SI1 Emerald cut so this is a huge change for me.
 
HEY! I am moving to Austin area.. if you are ever interested in a meetup we can figure out a way.. I would LOVE to see a HPC diamond in real life. :) peae.

Thanks again everyone. @mrs-b we customized the Blossom setting from HPD. I wasn't sure how I was going to like the melee set in the head but I think it turned out really beautifully. :love:

I absolutely love the setting, the blossom is one of my favourite settings for a solitaire. I love your little twist of adding accent diamonds in the basket. I can’t wait to see hand shots!

So beautiful! I can't wait to see it on your finger. It looks substantial and yet delicate at the same time. It is a beautiful upgrade to celebrate the 20 year mark. Congratulations!
 
OH Mrs B :( we are leaving in 9 days.. it would have been great to get down to Beantown :) how this all moved so fast is amazing.. we weren't even going to put the house on the market till spring because it's Maine, who buys in Maine? in the fall? nah.. so our agent said put it on now instead of waitng, we did and we had 2 offers in 24 hours we were gobsmacked NEVER expected it, so we have been running around for 3 weeks getting things ready, the inspector found MOLD in our linen closet! I never noticed we have had to get that fix diagnosed, fixed and fixed, (the ceiling was replaced albeit it was small but we then had to have a painter in etc) ths has been just sooo unbelievablly stressful and a pain in the butt. I know you are going to return home next year I think? so I will be in Texas and can make a SF meetup I'm sure as I thought your godchildren lived there.. you are a wonderful woman and your taste and class in life and jewelry abounds and I'm so glad I was able to meet you! hoping for another meetup!
