Shiny stuff for a rainy day

Rain makes for good a day to share bling.

First is a friendship ring I had DanielM create. Caren was sweet and helped me with proportions. I used a very sparkly bright .50 sapphire from Michael at Litnon and Caren sourced the ammy and, shhhhh, lab ruby (to keep it to budget). I really like the graduated bezels.

Then I finally snagged a 1.78 ct vanadium chrysoberyl from Brad at Gem Trader. I procrastinated too long for the one he had on the site for a while and he offered this. So shiny and I love the hint of mint.

Finally I bought this last December from Dana at Mastercut Gems, cut by Grey Weaver. My picture doesn't show how bright and neon this 1.44 tourmaline is. Love the asscher cut

I just move the stones with me from night stand to computer table so I can enjoy looking at them (DH thinks this is pretty funny)

When I find a new home for some other gems I put on pre-owned I'll set these lovely baubles.

I love the fact that you have wide-ranging tastes in stones. Your DanielM ring has good proportions and nicely matched colors in the stones - Caren did an excellent job sourcing them for you.

Super to find the vanadium chryso; that should give you some fun. I love the tourm from Dana too! Your ring is eye-catching -- terrific colors together. You've been busy!

It's funny bc it's a rainy day where I'm at too, and I spent a large chunk of it playing with and photographing gems :D

Your ring is so pretty and I also love the graduated bezels. Beautifully set.

I'm fascinated with vanadium chrysos so I think that's very cool! Love the cut on the tourm too. Actually you kind of remind me of me, lol. I do the same thing with my gems and my DH thinks I'm so weird! :)

Great stuff! I really want a vanadium chrysoberyl, but they're so hard to find.

Minous - thanks. I went with Caren and Daniel because of the positive experiences shared by PSrs.

Jewelfreak - it's ALWAYS fun looking at shiny sparkly stuff. The friendship ring is the first project I've conceptualized and Caren's experience and guidance were invaluable. Can't wait to do it again. (Well, I will have to wait for more $$). I'm confident my childhood friend will enjoy it.

Katharath and Jstarfireb - I admired the v chryso a long time. I was lucky with Brad. Saw a pretty one on Multicolour, I think it was cushion cut. If only I had $2300.....

Very pretty. Great colors.

What a great colorful ring!

You have chosen well! The asscher is suhweeeet! Smart of you to get one light enough in color to show off its faceting and windmills :))

The friendship ring is gorgeous; the colour combination is fabulous as is the very unique and well done graduated sizing. I think I've seen a few vanadium chrysoberyls at AJS and Multicolour too.

I LOVE your ring! I especially like the setting and the colors you chose! Too cute! It's yummy!!!! :lickout:

Thanks Marcy, InnerK, Chrono and Dnilsin> Nothing like sharing our treasures with PSers of like mind! The ring turned out very well. MinousB you're so sweet to think that I actually thought BEYOND the pretty shiny green to figure out the technical details
