My mother absolutely will not entertain the idea of me wearing snazzy colored shoes under my wedding gown, so I am searching for shoes that are white or near-white that are CUTE and that are either flat or have a very low heel - and the standard 2" kitten heel may be too much, although I will consider it - my fiance is about exactly 2" taller than I am and I'd like him to still have a height advantage. Maybe I can talk him into lifts?

Anyway, I wear a size 9.5 (I'm not nearly tall enough for these monster feet!) and my budget is somewhere in the neighborhood of $100. Sadly, everything's gotten so tight that it's all I can afford!

The heel is way too high on THIS shoe (and obviously it's out of my budget) but I LOVE IT... I don't just want a plain old ballet flat, but I can't do too over the top either. My first dress fitting is in a little less than four weeks (!!!!!!!Ahhh!!!!!!!!) so I need to act fast!

Please help!

Pics of the dress? And when is the wedding? Date and time of day?

this is the pic of the shoe

In my experience, my df who is barely 1" taller, is all for lifts as soon as I pull out the awesome high heels.

My advice, pick out your shoes, ask no questions, just proclaim.

You know, I usually love threads like this because it gives me an excuse to browse, but I''m feeling belligerent today, so if I were in your situation, I''d wear this pair just to signify to my mother that if I''m old enough to wed, I''m old enough to pick my own darned shoes. These would be as subdued as I could POSSIBLY manage! Did I mention that I''m a brat? ANYWAY (

at myself now!), you didn''t ask me for my opinion on that, so I apologize--I''m just grumpy. I''ll browse for real now!

I like this one. A little bling and really cute. Comes in ivory or white satin, 2" heel. $73.95

Also cute...the twisted knots sort of reminded me of the rosette design on the Cole Haan you showed us but with a shorter heel and in budget!

These are the shoes I am wearing. The heel is very low, it barely adds any height. They are also very comfy.

From my experience, the satin flats are really, really uncomfortable unless you get the very soft ones that are like ballet shoes. I had ordered a pair but had to send them back because there was no way I was wearing them all night.

Ladies, thanks for all the help so far!

doodle, I totally hear you, but as my mother (well, my parents) is/are paying for pretty much the whole shebang, if it''s important to her that I wear white shoes, I sure am gonna :) It doesn''t REALLY matter that much to me as long as they''re still cute shoes!

I''ll post a pic of my dress in a minute, Freke. It''s a Pronovias lace dress, the wedding is Friday evening (5pm ceremony, 7pm dinner) and pretty damn formal.

Upper part of the dress (having it made without the bow, though!)

Blurred out funny face, whole dress from the front - trying to cover up the bow! :)

Totally blurry picture of me still covering up the bow. (see, I''m not intentionally hiding it, just blurring out my totally stupid faces, haha.)

buuuuuuuuuuuuump :)

Oooh, Morgie, thank you! Of course as usual, my faves are the most expensive ones :)

meresal, SassyB, sunnyd, gaby, audball, diamondgirl, I know I didn''t thank you properly yet, so THANK YOU!!!! I really appreciate your help... there are some super cute shoes in the mix that might work for me, so I''m getting more excited... and shoe clips?! How have I not heard of them?? :)

mayachel.. HAHA! I hope that my fiance feels the same way!!

I wouldn''t have thought it would be this hard to find pretty white shoes on a budget! Man!
