Well, as my avatar indicates, I have decided on my shoes, and have them on order. Good lord, did anyone actually think that they would be this expensive if they weren''t Jimmy''s, Vera''s, or Stuart''s?

I gulped really hard, and pulled out that credit card

, ''cause the embroidery and beading look remarkably like my dress, the color is right, and the heel is the right height (low) without looking clunky or matronly. Thank God this website has a good reputation and a fairly liberal return policy.

Anybody else have sticker shock?

Yeah, I definately have -- I''m looking to buy shoes that are 130, when I thought I''d pay like 50...I could buy cheaper shoes, but I also want to find something I''ll rewear and love later also, since the shoes I was originally going to wear aren''t really rewearable but they also catch the underlayer of my dress, so I need different ones...
boooooo

I haven''t even started looking for my own shoes yet, but a good friend paid over $400 for hers. I was definitely in shock, especially when they did do any special tricks like complicated dance moves or anything for her. Sheesh.

Haha... yep, me too! Fell in love with a pair of Vera Wang shoes. The satin on the shoes was the same satin on the dress so of course I just *had* to have them. Of course then it had to rain on our wedding day so there I was tromping through grass and mud to get the very few creative photos that we could. Makes me cringe when I think of it. I should have had a pair of back up shoes for the outdoor pics.

OH yeah... a friend of mine was married in (THE MOST divine) cream satin swarovski-crystal-encrusted Jimmy Choos which set her back $1500. After marrying last year she has since dyed them black, and MAN do they look incredible, and she wears them HEAPS.

There was a pair of ballroom dancing shoes that were perfect for my dress and exactly what I wanted. But I couldn''t justify the cost, which turned out to be a good thing, because my dress was *just* long enough without shoes, so I had to wear flats. Then I feel in love with a pair of gold flats on zappos but they were $230, so I just bought a pair at target for $15. I ended up tramping through puddles myself, so I''m glad in the end that''s what I did, lol.

I''m planning to buy mine on Ebay, there are people selling fantastic shoes that have only been worn a few times for so much less!! I''m watching a GORGEOUS pair of blue suede Manolos with a starting bid of $100!! I just saw a pair of Marc Jacobs go for $40 and I''m watching another pair of Kate Spade''s for $30.

But, I also don''t want traditional "wedding" shoes...but there are even wedding shoes on there too, so it might be worthwhile checking out!!

You can also set up a search function so that every time there are new items listed that match your search, it emails you!!!

I love Ebay.

i i didnt think they would be that expensive either.. when i finally realized this i like karasue91 decided to look on ebay.. and i found my shoes instead of 80.00 for 24.00 with shipping. same exact shoe that i was looking for..
i recieved them today and they are perfect.. so good luck karasue i hope you have as much luck as i had with ebay...

I LOVED my wedding shoes.... even though $200 was a bit more than I''d originally intended to pay...

But in the end, definitely worth it... they stayed comfortable the whole day and night (and I have VERY blister-prone feet), and they''re silver, so completely rewearable. I''ve already worn them several times since: with a bridesmaid''s dress in my friend''s wedding, to attend another formal wedding, and even with jeans to go out at night.

So sticker shock, yes.... but fortunately no regrets!

Okay, so the first pair are not THE PAIR. Came today -- too tight, too narrow and long in the toe, slingback pinches. So, I saved myself that $145. + tax and shipping.

But, how do you like the new pair in the avatar? I just ordered them from Zappos with FREE overnight shipping and NO tax. Yeah

The look good on the website, and they were just $82.00. At this point, I''d pay just about any amount under $200. I have a very detailed dress, and the shoes cannot be ''too much''; but I did not want a completely plain shoe. My options have been limited by heel height, and color (ivory) as well. These are an ivory satin mule with silver and crystal beading along the top. The beading looks very similar to the earrings I''m going to wear!

Keep your fingers crossed for me -- I need these to work.

I bought my shoes today at My Glass Slipper in NYC. They were only $49 which is a steal. It was between them and a pair of Kate Spades that were great but were $255. I know I would never wear the KS again and they also could not be dyed. The pair I bought I will dye black after the wedding. I have really narrow feet so I have a hard time finding shoes. I also didn''t want anything really high because I will end up being miserable and also my groom isn''t that much taller than me...lol

I decided not to go the "bridal shoe" route and just looked for white heels that I would want to wear normally. I found a really cute pair of Kenneth Coles that should be arriving tomorrow for $79! I had enough budget left to buy another pair of fantastic deep red shoes to take some silly photos with. Red shoes, white dress...dramatic? :D

Other than Zappos, check out Piperlime, they''ve got some great stuff on there and of course, free shipping, free returns! :D
