I have question about this diamond for engagement ring

-What’s true HCA SCORE for this diamond?
-Is this true H&A ?
-Any recommend?

Is this for an engagement ring? This would not be my first choice...depth is 62.7% so you're losing a little size and on this size
diamond I would want all the size I can get. Crown is pretty high. Pictures of H&A are not big enough to evaluate.

H41 stone.pngere is the HCA

Agreed. Definitely not my first choice for an engagement ring.

Images are very difficult to see. It doesn’t look like a true H&A stone but it did seem to have decent symmetry.

It’s important to understand that H&A images only define symmetry. You really need an ASET or idealscope image to evaluate light return/performance.

The proportions on the lab report indicate it may work but as already pointed out the crown is high at 36.5. It does have a complimentary shallow pavilion. It will boil down to each actual value instead of the averaged & rounded data shown on GIA reports. The ASET or idealscope will provide visual confirmation how those actual values do or don’t work on this stone.

As others pointed out, the stone is deeper than recommended at 62.7. This means there is additional weight being carried in the vertical plane. As such that reduces the horizontal spread (diameter) in a negative way. Also additional depth can affect light performance as well.

The better question may be how much is this diamond selling for and is there a better alternative we can find you for similar money?

I forgot to add. Take the HCA with a grain of salt. It’s great for shortlisting stones but it’s not a good tool for nitpicking them. Its biggest fallacy is the fact it relies on the data from the lab report and makes the assumption all 8 crown and 8 pavilion facets are exactly and perfectly as reported. Reality is all those values vary slightly and in fairness there is no way for HCA to know the actual data without a diamond scan. Also it only analyzes some of the 57 facets and not all them.

Again, great tool for getting you in the ballpark but the advanced images is what you need to make a final determination.
