I''m not sure how I want to wear my hair for my wedding. The only thing I know is that I''d like my veil to be attached in the back somehow (I don''t want it draped over my shoulders -- it looked funny that way). Here''s a picture of Jennifer Aniston, and sadly, I look nothing like her. My hair style is similar to hers -- a longer bob (but I have bangs). What would look good?

When I tried on veils and my dress, the girl helping me put a fake hair scrunchy in my hair (she pulled up the sides of my hair and attached the fake hair thingy to me (I guess it would be a half up-do). I guess it would help if I posted a picture of myself but I''m not comfortable doing that.

Maybe something like this (modeled by Uma):

Do you have enough hair to do something like this (with sleek side bangs)?

This is gorgeous:

Ebree that last one is amazing!!!!!!

I love that style with the brooch! Very bridal.

(Can you please tell me the style name of the first pic you posted EBree?)

EDIT: Got it 'French twist'...

Oohh, I like that last one EBree! My hair's not long enough to do the second one you posted, although it does look pretty.

The one with Uma? I''m not sure what it''d be called formally. A wavy updo, perhaps? Here''s a pic from the front:

Hi Ebree, I finally found it on Google...it was the second pic you posted, but in my mind the first style....

(French Twist)

I don''t try to be so confusing, it just comes naturally...

Zoe, my hair is not that much longer than that and we did a veil in the back of my head, just on a comb
i had a side comb so i had some bling when the veil came off . It was similar to the brooch looking pic ebree posted.

One thought is, if you found a style you liked talk to your hairdresser about having some clip in extensions, if your own hair wouldn't work.
Let me tell you, you'd be surprised what the hairdressers can work with- once they put you on hot rollers and tease it out you won't believe how much hair it looks like you've got!

zoe, you''ve been a very very bad girl. First off, you have still not shown us a photo of you in your dress and I think I need to see that poste haste! And second, can you show us a photo of you, if you''re not comfortable posting a full photo then Andrey can photoshop your face or you can do a side/back shot so we can see your hair. It''s difficult to help not knowing just what your hair looks like!

I know, you''re right. Always the voice of reason.

I''ll try to look for a picture to post, either the front or back. I haven''t posted pics of me in my dress yet because it''s not ready yet. I only had my cell phone with me when I tried it on and the pics didn''t come out at all. Bear with me -- I promise to post pics at some point. But you''re right about the hair, it''s hard to help without the overall look.

Zoe, I am having a very similar problem!

I spent three years keeping my hair long "for the wedding." I had a makeshift up-do for our beach wedding and in a perfect world, I would keep it long so that I could have my "dream up-do" for the renewal next spring. But as of August, I just couldn''t take it any more. On a day-to-day basis, I just really prefer my hair shorter. So I chopped it off. Now I don''t know what to do about next spring. I would prefer an up-do because my hair gets stringy if left down, and because they look more formal. And I want to wear a veil. But even if it grows non-stop until June, it isn''t going to be that long. So, I''d like to join you in this quest, if you don''t mind!

Here''s a pic, so I don''t get yelled at:

And it is actually a lot longer in front, which now that it has grown out a little, I don''t care for and will have trimmed back to be more even. But it does help with putting my hair up in some fashion.

I guess the issue is that if I can find a style that will work, I will keep it short, since I like it better that way. But something romantic-organic-vintage-looking? Possible?

Here was my dream up-do, if that helps...

fatafelice, why not let your hair grow out til the renewal? It should be long enough by then yes?

Hi Zoe, my hair is cut similar to yours and this is what I was thinking with my birdcage veil :)

I like this too

oh and this one :)

SG: I would rather keep it the current length, if possible. I just like it better. But maybe now that I have gotten a short hair fix, I can deal with growing it out again.

Zoe: I found this crazy site through Weddingbee - and thought this style might work for you. Doesn''t look like it would need to be very long, and it has bangs...

I also wanted to add that my sister used a fake hair piece for her wedding and I was skeptical, but it actually looked pretty good in the end.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! FF, I have dark brown hari and bangs, but other than that, we pretty much have the same hair style.

I love this do but I''m not sure how you would attach a veil

rene_h006s.jpg

ladies anything is possible!! im a hairdresser and we work miracles. we find away to attach viels using pins and your hair no matter how short!! and now with all the extentions you can have your dream updo when i cut my hair i went to sallys and bought a ponytail hairext and used it to pin up and clip in my hair to get an up do everyone loved it and it was easy to do. extentions are also a possibility!! good luck

Thanks for all of your suggestions ladies! I love everything you posted. I thought of trying extensions, Bella, but I''m not an extensions kind of gal. I''m pretty low-maintenance when it comes to my hair (and makeup for that matter). I like to wash, dry, and go, and I don''t wear any makeup at all. My dress has arrived at the shop and I''m going to make an appt. to try it on with my veil and the wrap that I ordered. I''ll try the fake hair thing again and see how it looks.

I have fairly long hair and love the look of updos, but wonder if half way through the night I would be wanting it down? I have never been able to commit to one, even though I think they look amazing on others.

I love a couple of the ones posted and agree that if you show your hairdresser, they can really work magic if they know that is what you want.
