I am ordering my dress on Monday (!!!) and I have to decide what color to get it in. I already know I don''t want traditonal white, so that''s out the window. Now I have two options to choose from:

1) Ivory satin with ivory lace overlay
2) Champagne satiin with ivory lave overlay

Unfortunately they don''t have a sample of the champagne one in the store... only the ivory. The ivory looks ivory in person, but once photographed looks extremely white. I have pretty fair skin, so I am thinking maybe the champagne would look better against my skin?

Here is a link to my dress: http://www.casablancabridal.com/collections/view/5/84

Have you seen any of Casablanca''s other dresses in champagne? Like the 1881 where the middle is champagne. It''ll give you an idea of the color at least. I think both sound like beautiful options, but the lace would stand out more against the champagne probably.

I think ivory is a more universally flattering color than champagne - I am fair skinned too and I think champagne would wash me right out. Is there any way you could try a different casablanca dress in that color to see how you look?

you should try on a casablanca champagne-colored gown even if it''s not the style you like. then you could finally figure out if it does complement your skin tone.

I had a Casablanca dress that was Ivory with champagne accents... The champagne can look a bit "pinky", so if you want a bit more traditional look, I would go with the ivory. If you want to go a little bit more "out of the box", then I would go with the champagne.

I think ivory would be beautiful, but one thing I''m liking about the champagne is that the lace is ivory (vs. ivory on ivory), so the details might stand out more if the underneath is a diff color...which I think would be really pretty!!! But, that is a tough decision!!!

When I tried on the dress I fell in LOVE with, it was in Ivory...but I also tried it on in white, and didn''t like it as much...so color does make a difference!! Before you choose, I would do what some of the others have said, try on another casablanca dress in champagne to see if the color is good on you and you like it.

I agree. My dress is ivory with lace and I think it would take on a whole different look if it were in champagne.

Big DITTO! Ivory is made to look like white in pictures because brides want their dress to look white. However, the ivory has warm undertones so that it doesn''t wash out us fair skinned ladies. So there is a difference, but it is subtle and not meant to be noticed by many or in pictures. Champagne on the other hand is darker and actually shows in photos. Just my 2 cents.
