I want an oval diamond ring for my wedding next month and I am offered this stone which is suitable for my budget.

Please tell me your opinion. Any help or advice is appreciated :)

Video of the stone:

Unfortunately, fancy-cut stones like ovals can not be evaluated by paper/numbers. We need up-close videos and pictures to
really be able to tell anything.

Edit...just noticed the video. It looks pretty typical for an oval. Can you return it if you're not happy with it?

I can’t return it, cause they will order it especially for me. But maybe I can sell it later, im offered this stone for $12000 (I think good deal for its specs)

What do you think of the bow tie in this video? How do you rate it from 1 to 10 pls?

Are you sure this report goes with the diamond in the video? The report is showing a 6 main diamond but the stone in the video
is an 8 main. I would ask the jeweler why? Does HRD only use a 6 main Oval diagram for the clarity plot? (the mains are the pointed
facets coming out of the center of the stone that look like a 6-pointed star...on the pavilion/back side of the stone).

Do not buy a stone with the expectations of selling it later if you don't like it. You can not sell anywhere near the price you have to
buy retail.

Are you in the US or somewhere else?

Ok I understand what you said about the main and I sent to ask him now.

I’m based in Egypt unfortunately, and we don’t have many ovals available for purchase.

However, I’m going to London and Amsterdam next week. Do you recommend I wait and buy from there?

I am sorry, I can not advise you whether to wait or not. I am in the US and I do not know what is available in London or Amsterdam.

I told my jeweler what you said about the certificate being different than video, and thankfully he agreed that I return the stone if it arrives and I don’t like it!
Thank you so much, you’re the reason for this!
So it will arrive after one week, I’ll take real pics and videos of the stone when it’s here and post it for advise.

Thanks again :)

Take pictures in all different lighting. The area through the center will go dark in bright sunlight (because that's where the facets are
returning light the best) just like a well-cut round brilliant will go dark in bright sunlight. You have to decide if you are good/ok with that.

My stone has arrived! Here’s a video from the jeweler until I go see it tomorrow myself.

Any initial opinions pls?

I understand that I need to check it in all different lights, but then decide based on what? if it doesn’t sparkle well from all angles?

I still can return it if I don’t like it tomorrow, so please let me know if it’s not a good stone.

Thanks in advance!

Video is not very helpful... Impossible to form any kind of opinion on such a short video.

I'll be back in a minute with more details.

Look at this thread post #9

You want a wide area of nice facets going through the center and showing up as the stone turns. If the areas stay gray and
the facets are not well defined then they are considered "mushy" which do not return light well.

You want to make sure the stone has a lot of "nice" facets that return light well (flash on/off as the stone turns) and make sure
the stone has a minimal amount of gray/mushy area that does not return light/flash very well.
