Should I go with Peridot or Chrysoberyl?

I actually prefer chrysoberyl, as it is a harder gem. But find it difficult to find a good size chrysoberyl that is more green, with slightly yellow. Most of the chrysoberyl I see out there are too yellow, not enough green.

I can find peridot that is the right shade of green, and good size, but I am concerned it is too soft.
The price of peridot is better though.

Which gemstone tends to sparkle more brilliantly? Peridot or Chrysoberyl?

What are you planning on doing with it? What size/shape are you looking for?

I'd like a ring. Preferably an oval or round cut, 3-5 ct.

As you said a peridot is normally far cheaper as a good colored chrysoberyl. There are nice colors out for peridot though (Burma, Afghanistan for example) which deliver nice green tones.
For a ring it could be problematic with peridot as it is softer than the chrysoberyl. Depends on how often you wear it. For a chrysoberyl in the sizes you want there is a big price difference to peridot. sparkling depends on the cut. both can sparkle when cut well, chryoberyl should do a little better when well cut, but always depends on the stone.
