Eeeeee!

My diamond is officially picked out!

FF had our jeweler order one we found online so he could see it in person and he went to see it today and he said that he is SO happy with it! We''ve been looking A LOT over the past few months, and I''ve passed on much of my PS knowledge to him so I completely trust his judgment that this diamond is a winner!

It''s a GIA 1.22 ct cushion G SI2 which he said is completely eye clean. He said he could just barely spot the inclusion under the loupe, and wasn''t even entirely sure if that was it or not. But all we care about is eye clean!

He''s going back on Saturday to close the deal and has said that I can come along to see the diamond for myself if I''m interested. Part of me of course wants to see it!!! But another part of me wants to just wait and have the first time I see it be the proposal. What would YOU do? I still won''t be able to see the setting until he asks the big Q, so there will definitely be some surprise in what the ring as a whole will look like... So basically just seeing if anyone has an opinion one way or the other.

I am just SO excited to be on my way to being engaged to the most AMAZING guy!

Thanks!

Honestly, I''d prefer to wait. I want to see the ring- the stone, the setting, the works- for the first time when he pops the question. But it''s totally up to you! Nothing wrong with doing things either way, it''s really just preference.

I would probably go to see it, because I'd love to play with a loose stone (and take photos to tide me over

) but it might make waiting easier if you haven't seen it yet? I dunno. Either way, how fantastic that it's bought and almost time to get engaged!

Ditto :), seeing the diamond and then seeing the final product all set is really different (well to me anyway). If you go see it you get have a look at the personality of your pretty to be.

Obviously my answer is to go see it :).

I would go and view the loose diamond, but that''s just me... if you want a complete knockout surprise and you''re happy to wait... i guess that works too.

My fiance and I went together to choose our cushion... it was great to be able to see it all loose and lovely and be able to see it properly from all angles.... it also gives you peace of mind that when you finally do get your e-ring, you know for SURE that your baby is a winner!!

I agree with deelight that the final product of your ring is sooo different to just seeing the stone.... you''ll be surprised all over again - the setting gives it a new life!

anyway a big congratulations on getting your very own cushion - I can''t wait to hear all the progress....

I''d go to see it. I picked out my ring with D so I''m not that bothered about the surprise of seeing the ring at the time of the proposal. It would be great fun to see the loose diamond.

Well ladies, thank you so much for your input!

I was tossing and turning all night long, with dreams of glittering diamonds dancing in my head!

And I think you all have talked me in to going to see it.

I was leaning towards that decision because it would pretty much be my only chance to see it loose and, like Claireabelle said (btw Claire, your cushion is AMAZING!), see it from every angle. And I know it will be a whole new experience seeing it set. So YAY! I''m seeing my diamond tomorrow!!!!

Now lets see if I can sleep tonight...

Oh and Happy 4th to everyone and thanks again for your input!!!

You''ll have to give us a full report!

I saw my diamond unset. I am still not sure if I would want to see it set before I get it, but I was glad I got to see it unset first.

I''m soooo bad, but I would go say HI to it!

In some ways, it''ll make you even MORE excited... the way you get one bite of a delicious cake before being served your own piece? LOL. What a happy time for you!
