So DD headed off to her Interstate Conference at 5.30am this morning.
DH drove her to the airport while I slept.
Last night I’m like…….
Have you packed some tissues,
Take an umbrella
Take some sunscreen
Take your sunglasses
Do you have enough cash in your wallet
Dont forget your have your chargers
Hang up your clothes as soon as you get to your room….

Mmmmmmuuuuuuuummmmmmmm I’m not a kid anymore.

Fast forward to 7.30am this morning as DH returns home with a thundercloud expression.

DD forgot her conference materials.

SHE WHAT !!!!!!!!

Then she calls after the plane lands, lucky she has those tissues I reminded her about.
Sob, sob, Mum, sob, sob, Mum.
Don’t worry darling Mum has it.
Yes, I’ve already investigated flights today to Melbourne and car hire to Ballarat and back. Very Expensive.
Yes, I’ve already calculated the driving time (12 hours) meaning 24 hours in total. Very tiring.
Yes, I’ve contacted various Express Delivery Companies. Very sensible.

Luckily, her presentation isn’t until Wednesday so a Courier will suffice.

Hmmm, wonder is she’ll Mmmmmmuuuuummmmmm me again?

rofl so much I had to read it to mine Wifey!!!
She rofl!!

I am childless by choice, however, now that I have lost my mum, I kind of miss her nagging! :lol-2:

She nagged because she cared, and I am very grateful for that.

DK :cry2:

I think a lot of moms nagged because they care. And know consequences of things. We just hope that, when we aren't around, that they remember to do the things we nagged them about!

LOL I can relate from the other side (DD and her mom)...this is true love :kiss2: and yes I will miss it when she is gone as your DD will too...

AI generated poem. OMG. It's not bad!

A constant hum, a nagging drone,

Mother's voice, a well-worn tone,
"Did you eat? Did you call?
Don't forget your umbrella, fall!"

The daughter sighs, a weary glance,
"I'm grown, Mom, not a child in a dance,"
But the words fall flat, they seem to miss,
As the mother's worry, a relentless kiss.

"Your room is a mess, the dishes pile high,
You'll be late, why do you even try?"

A gentle touch, a loving scold,
A mother's heart, a story untold.
The daughter knows, despite the fuss,
It's love that drives this endless buzz,

A mother's care, a guiding light,
Even when the words seem to bite.

So she takes a breath, a smile she'll wear,
And whispers back, "I know you care,"

For in the nagging, the whispers, too,
A bond of love, forever true."
