I've noticed a lot of posters asking for options that include a halo with a plain shank (like Gypsy's beautiful asscher). I have been eyeing the Guinevere setting from WF, and love sandyandisaac's custom halo from Daniel M for her aquamarine. I'll try to post a few I can find, hope it's okay with the OPs! It would also be helpful if the designer/vendor name is also posted along with the photos.

Up first... Gypsy's asscher in design by Ocean Rose Pearlman (though I know she is having this re-done currently):

I love the contrast of the halo with the asscher! That's sooooo beautiful!

I've posted my yellow sapphire ring before, but here it is again. It's a Beverly K ring I had purchased from Pearlman's years ago.

I don't have any halo rings to contribute, but wanted to say parrot tulips- I LOVE THAT RING!

Found a few similar threads to this one but vendor names aren't posted, so am going to transfer some info. from various threads into this one.

I absolutely love the idea of a plain shank halo, and have a couple for my coloured stones.

OMG. Rubybeth, what an absolutely amazing (and I'm completely floored) compliment. There are many lovely plain shanked halos in Deco and vintage designs and vintage-style ones (like PT's stunning Bev K) for inspiration. I loved the idea of it (still do, since I'm just having my ring tweaked not replaced) and the practicality. They also look fabulous with colored stones (like Lauren's lovelies).

I really hope I love my 'tweaked' setting as much I loved the original. Steven is mailing it to Neil (so he can update my appraisal) on Monday. I'm hoping to have it by the 23rd!

Nervous!

Again, thank you. You made my day!

You are quite welcome, gypsy! I just love asschers and halo/plain shank settings, so your ring is a favorite of mine. I'm sure the tweaks will be great, as well, and make it more wearable for you. Congrats on the new job, btw! :appl:

Andelain, that is a very cool ring. Info. on where it's from? I'm envious of your collection of sparklies, too. :Up_to_something:

Thanks rubybeth. :wavey: I got it a few years ago off ebay, but I don't have much provenance on it. The center stone is either 1.92 or 1.97 ct, I forget which. The off-brand pedigree that came with it calls it a G-VVS2, but it's actually around a K-VS1or 2. It would be considered a good, maybe a very good cut, definitely not excellent. It's a little on the deep side, but still pretty. The halo stones total a carat and a quarter, are high color and clarity. I really like it, and love the profile because it sits nicely down on the finger. I think my favorite part of the design on the lengthwise channel mounted baguettes. Plus the ring is big enough to give great finger coverage on my size 8.5 hands.

A new addition... dreamingoftacori's tacori 2639! Love it.

Thank you rubybeth! I love my ring and remember going to this thread a few times to gaze at all the plain shank halos as I was awaiting my own. I also added more pictures to my thread that are a little more clear last night. I'm beyond obsessed! Something about the balance between the polished shanks of these rings and the halo makes me swoon.

I love the basket on your ring! Its so delicate and such a wonderful surprise! Scary's oval is amazing! And gypsys reset looks so good! I can't wait to see more when she posts it!

Ooohhh, that Tsavorite ring looks amazing. I'm not even a halo lover but it looks gorgeous.

Here's one of Leon's that I keep coming back to. It almost makes me want to exchange my emerald cut for a cushion. It's dreamy...
