Hi Ladies,

I am looking to adding to my small collection with a 5-stone.
I love the u-prong design and am currently considering cushion stones for something different between 0.3-0.5ct (per stone) in size.
I have seen a Leon Mege that on his micropave website that I have fallen for, but I am torn as I just bought my wedding bands from whiteflash and was really amazed with the quality and customer service.

I would love to see your 5-stone rings (u-prong or not) in any size or stone shape so I can get an idea of scale as Im thinking the 0.5 stones might be too big. My finger size is 6.75.

Thanks!

This is the leon just so you can see what I would L  VE!

Gald that I am in a good position to help. Hope my comments would help answer your question regarding stone size for your 6.75 finger.

I had my first 5-stone ring custom made by Whiteflash (thrilled with purchase and love, love this ring). It is a custom-made U-prong with 2.034 ctw ACA diamonds of G/H color and eye-clean SI1 clarity. The 40'ish-pt diamonds provide perfectly full finger coverage for my 5.75 size left ring finger. Refer to attached photo below for an idea of proportion on finger.

This year, I decided to get a second 5-stone ring for my right ring finger of 6.25 size. This time, the larger finger size allowed me to venture into 50-pt land and got myself 2.58ctw F (1 G) color ACA stones in a Trellis style setting. Although my final Trellis design ring is still being made, I did try on the first Trellis version and thus have photos to show you about proportion and finger coverage. For my size 6.25 finger, 50-pt diamonds are on the border line of being too large (but OK to me as I want biggest diamonds possible). Therefore, for your 6.75 size finger, 50-pts are definitely perfect. Refer to 3 photos for ring on my 6.25 size right ring finger and side-by-side with the U-prong on my left hand.

Thank you so much fancy diamond! Thats exactly what I wanted to see!
I think I might wait, save up and buy the 0.5 stones, its such an expensive purchase as it is and I shouldnt rush.

Thank you so much for posting it was a great help! Both your rings are beautiful, the 0.5 stones give great finger coverage!

You could also do graduated diamonds with a larger center. :loopy:

I have a leon with larger center, tapering to ends.

FancyDiamond, I'm drooling over your 50 pointers band...

FancyDiamond, holy gorgeousness.

GLS -I think the .50s would be perfect! Keep in mind if you do cushions (man that Leon is beautiful) that they will face up smaller than rounds.

Lauren, you sneaky pete, that's absolutely stunning! I didn't even know you were working on a new project. You chose a perfect mounting for older stones.

LOL, Lisa. I was inspired by AJ's 2 ct. 5 stone that she let me wear while we were in NYC. I had to have my own version of it, although, on a much, much smaller scale! :naughty:

ohhhhhh LTP that is GORGEOUS!!!! I love everything about it - the OECs, the details on the halos, the spacing between the stones - what a unique, delicate beauty!!

No, I only wear this ring on my left hand now. I'm going to remake the pear and channel diamonds from the original set into something else.

btw Yssie, I've meant to say for a very long time that I Just LOVE your little kitty in your avatar!

aww thank you! He's my parents' cat - actually an extraordinarily misanthropic creature IRL but we adore him anyway ::)

your lovely and a mockup for dreamer's reset have me flirting with the idea of turning my ring into a 5stone.. in oh, twenty years when this setting wears down and I can justify it :cheeky:

It's lovely! Apologizing for the threadjack, a question - is this someplace I should check out? I've never heard of them (granted I've never heard of anyone...) and would love to have a jeweler to build a relationship with! Thanks!

Rosetta and Vbnet, thank you so much!

Sillyberry; I would highly recommend Aldemar at JB Jewelers, if for nothing else, that he's pretty much figured out great claw prongs. They're not quite Leon calibre in macro pics, but on the hand, they're perfectly beautiful.

Is Plano far from you, SB?

Not in the least. I'm a Wildcat! Temporarily back living in my hometown before I'm off to my next adventure.

Aren't you the DFW GTG Extraordinaire? ;)) If there are any in the next few months I would love to attend!
