I need some setting inspiration. Im considering pulling the trigger on a 2 ct old mine cut and I'm lacking ideas on how I want to set it. I was originally planning on upgrading a current ring that I have and setting the new stone in a similar setting, but after weeks of constant flaky inquires; I'm thinking of just keeping it and upgrading anyways. So I obviously don't want 2 stones in similar settings. Now I'm going to have to dream up something entirely different if I want to purchase this other stone. I want something simple. I'm thinking maybe a platinum bezel but I'm not finding anything I'm loving on pinterest or by any designers. I'm not going to post the stone because I haven't purchased it yet. Please show off your old mine or antique solitaires.

EC8, stunning ring.

Apart from that thread LLJsmom linked, you can hit up Instagram. Lots of inspiration on there. :))

Nancy’s Journey:

I have an old mine cut solitaire.
Mine may be more ornate than what you have in mind.
It was made by Caleb Meyer Studio in Philadelphia with a stone I purchased from another jeweler that was going out of business.

CMS was gracious in setting an outside stone, which he does on a case by case basis.

The stone is a 1.26 ct. L, VS 2
The setting is hand forged 18 Ct. yellow gold scroll design with a platinum bezel.
I opted to pass on milgraining the bezel, though I can have him do it any time.
I love the design and overall balance of the ring. It never spins and I can wear any band with it bc of the platform design. It’s fun changing up bands with this ring.
His finishing and detail work are meticulous.
I hope this helps. Good luck finding inspiration for your ring. There are so many great options! I love OMC stones and yours looks beautiful!

a quick sneak peak of mine. Not allowed to wear it yet as it’s a birthday gift to myself and I don’t turn 40 til October. The setting is second hand from @Mayk and is Erika Winters Laurel

OH MY GOD we’re going to need details!!!!!!

The color is to die for. It’s stunning!

The setting really brought out the color, it was a washed out color in the platinum setting.
