I have a new ring with rescue diamond that came to me from a family friend (a longish story for another day....). The diamond is certed, however I do not have the cert and do not know whether it is a GIA cert or something else outlandish. I had the diamond set in a Tiffany replica which I love and the end product to my eye is very pleasing.

I had my nails done at the salon lat week and low and behold, this following is what I see as my gel nails are getting set in the UV light. A strongly fluorescing diamond. Very interesting to look at if you ask me, especially when getting nails done at the local salon.

Can you please share me pics of your diamond fluorescing - this is a phenomenon I'd like to see more of in everyday photos!!

Thank you Missy - for a bastard diamond that has no pedigree, its been a lot of fun to look at. Its is very nice to my eye in normal light, but now I get to know thats it strongly fluorescent too. I can see its inclusions with a loupe so i guess coupled with the floursecnsce, I will always know its MY diamond

I posted this pic in the Cartier thread as I got a new Cartier wedding band also. It is very pleasing to me in everyday life. I have a Whiteflash ACA also and surprisingly this diamond looks just as nice to me, even though I have no idea what i might be graded in terms of cut.

Aww love the mix of Cartier with your non pedigreed ring. It’s a beautiful combination.

In the second photo in my post above, you can see a massive inclusion when you zoom in - across the top of the table. Cant see it with my eyes in real life, so thats a plus. Still happy to have it - cheerfully named the 'bastard' diamond

Heavenly Love the rose gold & the diamond is just beautiful! Perhaps next time your friend wants to donate an unloved diamond, they can send it my way! And try as I might, I cannot see the inclusion?

The diamond was from an engagement ring from a failed engagement so yes it was definitely unwanted in the end. I helped my friend out in time of need so they gave me the ring and of course I had to reset it. Cannot be bothered to have it recertified by somewhere reputable so it will just have to be set in a glorious ring where I can at least enjoy it.

You can see the inclusion in this pic - its a jagged line across the table. My jeweller said this makes it at least an I1 maybe worse. Was a bit disappointed at that

I absolutely love your diamond. The fluorescence, the inclusion - all proof that you are wearing a true creation by God or Mother Earth or Nature or whatever you believe - but so cool!!!
