Can I play? Here are my everyday butter soft 22K gold earrings. I probably shouldn't wear them so much but they remind me of the holiday when I bought them :)

Play away!

Wearing high karat YG on your ears is probably a good idea! The side of your head/neck gets less blows than your hands/wrists! I think they'll be fine :wavey:

Here are three of my simple 22k chain necklaces.

Holy sh*t, I'm in YG heaven!!!!  My favorite are those bangles. They're phenomenal! :o  I love how your anklets match your shoes (or rather, your shoes match your anklets) so darn well. It's perfect. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks madelise. I love shoes! So I was on the hunt for those lovely gold Louboutins to complement my yellow gold jewelry and gown.

SC86! Wow :appl:
Congratulations on your wedding, and that amazing jewellery!
I especially love the earrings and anklets. Thanks so much for sharing :)

So many beautiful pieces here, but SC86, OMG! All those pieces are so exquisite! I actually thought you were wearing gold shoes, too! You probably were at least 10 lbs heavier on your wedding day!

Ha! You're not the only one. I thought 'holy crap, gold shoes!' and zoomed in for a closer look.

Beautiful jewelry. :sun:

I love very yellow gold. I've got a few chains in 21 to 23 kt gold, but not much in the way of pics of them.

The pendant is 18 kt, but the chain is 22kt.

Hello all!!! I love this thread, many gorgeous gold pieces! I have a few additions to contribute. All my pieces are 22k and somewhat traditional punjabi pieces. I have to say I'm not sure the warm gold looks as exquisite on my pale skin as it does on my husbands and children's lovely skin tone. Perhaps I can get my toddlers to
Model the pieces lol!!!

Here is my wedding set from my mother in law. It's quite a but heavier in person than I find this picture depicts!

My favorite pieces of all, are my two little girls baby bangles given to them from their lovely grandma. They are too small to wear now but I treasure them so much. I think it's time to get my older daughter her first big girl bangle!

Never even knew this thread existed

First up- my wedding set. I wish i had better close ups...stats: 200+ grams of 22 carat gold, 10 carats of polki diamonds ( similar to rose cut but no facets) tourmalines and a few other gem stones...

Then reception set! This one is a LOT of diamonds and tourmalines, not sure of the exact carat weight but something like 100 grams of oxodized yellow gold ( to give it an antique finish) 30 carats of polki diamonds and 50 carats of cabachon tourmalines. No earrings shots of this one unfortunately, but they are lovely. I have also worn this set with "western" clothes- very recently i wore it to a pre-oscar party in Beverly Hills and it looked incredible!

Dollyyanjuni,
Unbelievably jaw droppingly gorgeous! One does not fully comprehend the size of the pieces until you see them worn. Your wedding outfit is also no less stunning.

Loooove your polki pieces!!

thank you everyone! I wish i had close ups to show the work- it's amazing. But both of these sets are locked up in the bank, and probably won't be coming out anytime soon...

My parents bought my wedding set ( the gold one) when i was 20 years old, when the price of gold was 400 dollars (!!!!!) an ounce. When I got married, gold was at almost 2000 an ounce!!! My mother used that as justification to my father of why gold and jewelry is always a good investment :rodent: Even though gold has now gone down a good amount, we would never be able to afford jewelry like that at the time of my wedding, so I am thankful my mother had the foresight to buy it when the price was so good, and held onto it. I felt like I needed a bodyguard at my wedding. And whats crazy is that all my friends had ten times the gold/diamonds that I had on.

If it wasn't so sentimental I would have been tempted to trade it in for a down payment on a house, but oh well. My future daughter is going to be very, very lucky =) :naughty:

Are you kidding me?? Those pieces are STUNNING     The meshwork on that choker necklace with polki diamonds... AHHH!!! TOO beautiful!! I am truly amazed, my jaw literally dropped. WOW!! The best part is your mom picked it up for 5 times less than what it would have been at the time of your wedding!! :appl: :appl: :appl: Just shocked, the gold working against the maroon of the fabric, just alluring.

Bump!

Dying....need high karat yellow gold pictures to revive me....aaahh..help....

:D
