hi everyone, i don''t normally post but i''ve somehow grown this unnatural obsession with fancy yellow diamonds (and other yellow gemstones). so please show me your yellows!! especially pale yellows and champagnes!!! rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets... WHATEVER!! i just wanna see them!!

Hi,

While this would not be considered a fancy yellow... it would fit your request for a pale yellow. I really
love my stone and since it''s also an OEC it has tremendous fire as well. It was hard to get the color of
the stone to photograph well since my picture taking skills are strictly amateur.

WOW... sorry my picture is HUGE- I don''t know why it is I obviously resized it to fit- If someone knows
what I did wrong let me know.

you can open your picture in a photo editor and resize it to about 500 width pixels...that is how i size most of my PS pictures so they don''t stretch the window.

re: fancy yellows, i have recently become a huge fan of pale yellows in the X-Z range...I love the stones on DiamondsbyLauren''s site!

oooooooh.......very pretty!!!!

Ok, here is an extraordinary fancy vivid yellow emerald cut diamond that we recently sold and set. The setting is 18k yellow though it looks white in the image. The ring was handfabricated specifically for this stone and as you can see, sort of, the very little light leakage that did occur in the diamond was captured in a scintillation well we built into the setting. In person the inside of the setting shoots sparkling shards of light in all directions.

Wow, Richard....that''s beautiful!

Here''s my contribution (recently posted elsewhere..but what the heck):

This ring is from the ''20s-''30s, platinum. A couple of years ago I had the diamond reset with YG prongs in hopes of enhancing the color.

Marquise, 1.73cts, Fancy Light Brownish Yellow. (No clarity grade)...

i replied to you elsewhere also but oh my widget, i love that ring! that stone is gorgeous. i love the light brownish-yellow color and the shape (AND how it''s set east-west)!!!! i really think i want my first RHR to look very similar to this ring!!!!!

I have been thinking more and more about yellows in the last few months. I have a pendant project in mind and would love a 0.50 to 0.60 light yellow (maybe Y-Z in color). I am hoping to be in New York this August. Maybe David (from DBL) will have some time in his busy schedule to meet with us so I can get just the right color.

I know that the intense yellows are too dark for my taste, but I''ve never seen a line-up of W through fancy light yellow in person to know for sure where my tastes will fall. For me, I think it''s impossible to make a decision based on photographs on my monitor.

would anyone guess that this is from costco?

belle,

it looks good!

i think so mz! .....and if i run into a spare 22k, it''s mine!!!

belle, is costco still cash and carry only to the public?!

peace, movie zombie

mz, costco is a members only warehouse buying mecca. they carry a great many and varied items, with the merchandise being slightly different from store to store. they take cash and amex

you can also shop www.costco.com it's all good.

yes, i used to be a costco member...and remembered it as a cash and carry unless one happened to have a wholesale license. they certainly didn''t carry diamonds when i was a member. i have the opportunity to go each december as my husband''s employer has like an ''employee morning'' at costco so it doesn''t matter that we''re not a member. but i always seem to not get there!

Here are a couple of 5+carat fancy yellows available at auction this week..

I''m probably bias in favor of the Old European Cut stone in the vintage (1920)mounting...I like antiques...but then I guess I wouldn''t complain if someone wanted to get me the vivid yellow asscher!!!

Those are two cool bits, aren''t they...

For some reasom step cut yellows don''t look quite as yellow for the same grade, but that one seems to disprove. And so does Richard''s piece.

Is a fancy yellow next on your list ?

wow wow wow, incredible rings!!! i just loooove these yellows, especially the pale yellows and champagnes!! my wedding color is a champagne color.. i wish i could outfit my bridesmaids with champagne diamonds. alas, they will have to settle for glasses of champagne.

Ana!! you''re a wicked wicked girl!!

Actually, a fancy yellow would have to be about third or fourth on my list now...under black opal, star ruby, maybe star sapphire....

I know, I''m a sick sick woman!

I have been lusting after this ring from Fay Cullen. I think the yellow gold setting makes it so warm and sumptuous!
