I always like to buy used when I can but I've had hit or miss experiences with ebay & etsy in the past and the two small purchases i've made on loupetroop have been busts (1 item that wasn't quite as expected based on pix and 1 never made it to me, though the seller was kind & decent and refunded the purchase).

I've gleaned some tips from everyone's posts about buying from private sellers and I'd love to see any great pre-loved scores you all care to share to restore my faith in buying used!

Preloved is the way to go! My engagement ring and all my bands are preloved - the thrill of the chase is half the fun. Excuse the terrible pic but I'm wearing three preloved rings right now: 1530464152742461419282.jpg from top to bottom - 1.5 ct ideal cut RB in Tacori setting from I do now I don't, antique sapphire eternity from an antique mall (I overpaid for this one but adore it so I've forgiven myself) and a 1 Ct seven stone ring, also from I do now I don't. If you're patient, you can find some incredible deals - the trick is holding fire and not accidentally buying things that are *almost* right because they are great deals.

All my bands have been pre-loved and I love these two especially! An antiqued CvB Sophia from a PSer off loupe troop and another from ig. I'm always looking too it's so dangerous! 01E6CD9A-AFFF-4306-994C-4A3B28E49326.jpeg

These are amazing, ladies!!!

image.jpg My favorite (besides my inherited pieces) is a .76 emerald cut ring that I found at a pawn shop a few years back. I had always dreamed of having a step cut but my DH proposed with an MRB. This scratched my itch and I got it for a steal!!! The band is also pre loved!

I found this beauty preloved on Facebook a few weeks ago (the ering, the band I found at Overstock). Sold to me as a .50ct center diamond, S2, "near colorless", Leo princess cut. I tested the diamonds to make sure it was indeed genuine. 14K rose gold. IMG_20180701_130934.jpgIMG_20180701_130904.jpgIMG_20180701_130740.jpgIMG_20180701_130649.jpg

Lucy, my Art Deco beauty was purchased from a store that sells estate pieces.

And last week I purchased an AVC in a CvB “Acacia” setting from fellow PSer, @JDDN. I wear this as my engagement ring.

Not the best picture of my 5 stone but here it is...I got this off eBay about 8 or 9 years ago...the diamonds are all either F and E color and all VS1 set in 18K yellow gold... The original setting was a bar setting and I had my jeweler make a custom mounting for the top in white gold and I added 2 small blue diamonds you can’t see them in this picture...this is my favorite ring and I wear it alot5CB1F5F9-D265-496F-8B45-C773206DADA1.jpeg
as a FYI not sure why my middle finger looks like that...its not crooked or that fat lol

It is really fun to find a treasure and bargain with them. I always have my find checked out by my jeweler!

Most of my stuff is Preloved but here are a couple of my absolute favorites. The first one is a vintage ring from the Jewel Box in Dallas. All the diamonds in it are OECs. The second one is a Beverley K cross pendant that I won on eBay for $105 from a lady who said she was a former employee of the company! Both of these items get a lot of wear!

IMG_0059.JPG Purchased these earrings from a fellow PSer several months ago. love them and can't imagine wanting to replace them. I also worked out that the earrings I purchased must be the sample Abbey style earrings posted on the CVB Etsy site.

:appl: So glad you like them! They were the first pair of them that she made - this was Caysie's take on the (many) pictures of antique earrings that I sent her after she helped me source the stones. I love how delicate the settings are IRL - I will eventually reset my new studs that Adam @ OWD found for me into this setting when the funds allow.

Everyone's finds are so stunning....thank you for sharing.:love::love:

I'm *still* looking for a yellow gold band that will look right w/ my e-ring, need to add some of these pre-loved channels to my search. :Up_to_something2:;)2

I absolutely love my OEC preloved rose gold DBTY! Purchased from Mayk, who won it at a PS get together, made by the former JBEG. Couldn't believe it when I saw it listed on LT. I snagged that baby as fast as I could, those little OEC's sure are sparkly. Its been my daily go-to bracelet, pictured with my 7 ct (.18 ACA melee) WF tennis bracelet.

You've probably already seen this, but I got both my Cartier rolling ring & Tiffany solitaire preloved, for 50 - 80% off retail. I go for named pieces because, if authentic, it's easier to guarantee standard of quality. Not as good as some members here who can sniff out the real hidden treasures! I hope you find what you're looking for!
