You have time!!

I got lucky with ours... I found them on macys.com after Easter for $16 a piece. If you have little flower girls, the Easter dresses can often work, especially if you aren''t going for plain white. Ours were light blue, looked lovely, and the girls really liked them, plus at that price, we weren''t worried about them being a burden since one mom had to buy two. (I had 3 little girls and 1 older girl)

Our wedding is 5 months out and we have not ordered our FG dress yet. Primarily because she''s only 4 and I''m afraid her growing. So I''m waiting until probably march to order.

here''s what I''m ordering...not cheap, but LOVE the dress and goes perfect w/ our outdoor wedding. The sash will ivory as well though when I order.

it''s from fox & lily.

This is the dress we are leaning towards, but I''m holding out for the easter dresses to come out before I make the final decision. The little boys and girls are wearing brown cowboy boots with their suits/dresses too.

That''s a coincidence cdt1101! I''m planning for the same dresses for my FG!! Just ashame that they''re quite pricy (and I need 3 of them...

dutchgirl - they are quite $$..thankfully I only need 1. 3? ouch! But they are soooo nice. I love that they are not poofy :)

I rarely post here, but I loved our flower girl''s dress. Amazingly, my aunt/FG''s grandma picked up this dress at TJ Maxx for like, 30 dollars. A set of ribbon-tied ballerina slippers later and she was a smash!

Hey! That's the one I'd picked out! I loooove that dress. Our flower girls looked at it and said "where's the princess skirt?" haha! So we're getting them something a little poofier.

The issue I'm having is that they would also like ORANGE dresses (which is our primary color, how convenient!), and I'm having trouble finding a poofy orange dress that is still tasteful

Musey - have you seen this dress at fox & lily? there is a note on the website that they can add extra tulle to the skirt. There is also one similar w/ no sleeves. Again, not cheap at all, but I think this dress can do color and be tasteful

As for the color...well I ordered a few different swatches from f&l at no charge. And each time I did so, they sent like 6-7 varing shades of the color I requested as well. I''m not sure what they have in the way of orange...it''s so hard to tell what the colors will actually look like on the IRL vs monitor.

Here''s the link to the dress - see note under picture.

and here''s a pic.

Here''s the no sleeve option...even more expensive though

You have time. We ordered our like 3 months out I think. Mine FG wore a simple Ivory satin dress with a black sash (It was the opposite of the BMs. They wore black with ivory sashes)

cdt- I love that dress (it doesn''t hurt that the model is adorable)! I especially love the sleveless version. Are you ladies paying for the dress or is your flower girl''s parents'' paying?

We pay for our 3 FG''s. They''re my nieces and because Dutch customs don''t have adult BM''s, we only have FG''s, I''m paying for their attire

. I love the Fox & Lily design, so if anybody has a less expensive idea: keep it coming!

sap - we are lucky that we only have 1 FG. We are paying for the dress since it''s my fiance''s niece. We wanted to do it for his sister. Especially since it''s kind of pricey and she''ll likely only wear it once

Haha yes, actually this was the second one I sent them (with this intended for the younger of the two FGs, and the mostly-white version intended for the older one). They''re both a little low-key for these girls (which is unfortunate, because they''re my faves). When I say poofy princessy, this is what they''re picturing:

DG, if you or anyone you know sews--these kinds of dresses are a SNAP to make! The Fox ''n'' lily ones, especially. If you start out with accurate measurements, you could probably whip one those together in 2 hours for about $30.

im so happy i have time according to you ladies ( the experts) everyone around me keeps asking me "so did you pick out bridesmaids and FG dresses" and my answer is not yet then they tell me i need to hurry up. arrrggg the stress!!!

All those dresses are beautiful, and the idea of waiting for eater dresses to come around is even better. I really didnt want the FG's wearing white, wanted something with color and not to pricey. My colors are tifanny blue and chocolate(for now, i have only changed them 300 times) how did you guys stick to a color scheme?, its so hard for me.. what kind of dress do you think can work with that?

SB - I hear you on changing color schemes! I definitely went back and forth for awhile. What I did was pick one color I couldn''t do without, which was green for me. From there I just started looking at pics on theknot. Long story short (after a lot of changing...hehe), I settled on doing flowers in shades of green w/ pops of hot pink. We will also be using accents of navy blue (guys are wearing navy suits). But my BM are wearing ivory. I just didn''t want to look back at pictures 10, 20, 30 years from now thinking "oh my goodness i made my girls wear lime green??"...so i played it safe w/ attire. But going bold w/ flowers/linens/favors, etc.

ANNNNYWAY.....as for FG dresses I would just search online/bridal salons and see what you like. Most times you can play around w/ accent colors of FG dresses. Finding dresses not white however maybe more difficult/pricey.

SB - just to show you what''s out there

I found this pic online. Not sure if it''s what you are looking for and I have NO idea what the cost is, but here''s a pic w/ the website.

cdt- that dress is so cute and looks comfy for a little girl to wear. thanks

Those dresses are just too cute, but I can't imagine paying $200 on a flower girl dress. Musey's idea of getting someone to make it is a great idea. You could go to Joannes, Hancock, Walmart, or any other fabric shop and look through the pattern books. Or you could go to VoguePatterns.com I found this vogue pattern

McCalls has a bunch too.

Here is a simple patternhere

You could find much more in stores.

Musey did you see this pattern from McCall's?
