@Adam95 's thread on dream gems made me curious - if you were only allowed to pick one gemstone/diamond what would you pick? (Engagement ring excluded)
Give me details on color, size, cut - if there's a picture of one that has been your dream for the last few years, let's see it! How would you set it?
Now, no trying to skirt around the rules, you're only allowed to pick one!

I’d want this deep plum Jadeite Bead Necklace with beads measuring at 16mm each. It’s available in Singapore for $236,000USD.

I’d have it set to something like this by Hemmerle using precious to non precious metals matching the Jadeite’s color as spacers. Disclaimer- the above pic is my choice, below is just a sample of design.

@Adam95 Beautiful! Would you set it in a ring or for displaying?
@Jadeite_101 That's a gorgeous color! I could see wearing it in PJs or a ballgown
@sydneyatl The color of that garnet is spectacular, matched only by the brightness of the cut!
@LilAlex I can see why! Are you planning on a miniature version?

Easy, a vivid green diamond of top saturation like this, the bigger the better - at least 1ct. It would be set as a solitaire in an elaborate Van Craeynest setting, white gold.
There's something amazingly luxurious about a green diamond that looks THAT green without help from a setting which ramps up the color (usually you see rose gold+pink halo).

Here is a 5ct vivid green that sold for about 17m

Here is a 1.6ct that sold for 1.2m, in a white gold setting (that doesn't ramp up its color)

(a 5ct Russian demantoid would be a somewhat more realistic option, but I wont break the rules!)

Oh, I think I'd take this.

Hahahaha! "Tiffany & Co" makes the headline -- but unheated Kashmir is buried in the fine print!

My Opal ring, a one of a kind. Pink sapphires and diamonds set in 18ct white oxidised gold. The Ethiopian opal is over 30 carats. Not the first owner of this beautiful ring but the last!
I may not have many places to wear such a fabulous ring but anytime the sun is out, I’ll spend some time enjoying her.E08BB352-DDB7-46FC-A994-43401D56F16C.jpeg8BA61AAA-D6A4-454C-A5B7-8ACE7A30E443.jpegF2272EB2-0AD9-4628-994B-AFD560A1ECC9.jpeg3D4B86A9-07DB-4A16-8C9F-0071879BCC28.jpeg

I know! Way to bury the lead!

If I could only choose one I choose the ring my mom and dad gave me many years ago. It was a ring my dad gave my mom in 1972 and it means the world to me. Not just because it is objectively beautiful and valuable but because it represents the true love my parents have shared for over 56 years now.

Most PSers have heard the story too many times so I will spare you. If I could have more than one I would have fun choosing but if I could only have one this is the one I am keeping for as long as I am here.

Photos don't do it justice.

The Sunrise Ruby is my dream gemstone! It's over 25 carats and the colour is pure vivid velvety pigeons blood blood red!

At US$30 million, it will never be my budget, but one can dream!

Oh yes I would love to add this to my jewelry collection. Swoon!
