Hi everyone!

I bought my first few diamond jewelry pieces and now I am hooked. I did not have a traditional engagement ring when my husband and I got married, and I wouldn't have it any other way. But now I am looking at these gorgeous solitaires and I think I'd like to get one! I have a size 8 finger and I was looking at about a 2.5ct to 3ct round cut diamond solitaire ring. Does anyone have anything similar on a size 8 finger? I just want to know if the size of the finger would just make it look much smaller. Thank you all!

You can go to diamdb.com and put in the measurement of the stone and adjust the finger to your size and it will give you an idea how it will look.

I am a size 9. My stone is only a 1.56 but faces up slightly larger. I also didn’t get a solitaire when we were fist married. Here’s how I wear her now for perspective. I think a 3 ct would look huge and beautiful for what it’s worth!

Hi, thanks so much! The solitaire is 3mm. The plain band is also 3mm. It was designed together so they fit flush and are super comfortable. The diamond band is also 3 mm but with the solitaire, the top of the rings measure 7mm. The stone measures: 7.52x7.57x4.50mm
The size of the rings is actually probably a 9.5 since I always wear them together. My hands are small but fingers chubby if this helps at all. Good luck and can’t wait to see your big diamond!!

I went to Bloomingdales today and just tried on what they had there, which was a 2.10 solitaire. It did not go well with my wedding band in my opinion, the band stones are about .28 each and I think they should be smaller to go with a solitaire… may need to rethink this… maybe will get a plain metal band. This can all be so overwhelming sometimes

Here is the 2.1 ct solitaire with my own band, I couldn't put it on all the way ‘cause it’s a size 6.75 and I was scared it would never come off lol! Please ignore my absolutely horrible nails, no manicure

I highly recommend getting cz tester rings in the mm you want on Amazon. I find them really helpful

Here are my OEC and MRB ERs.

The OEC is a 3.39 ct, the MRB is a 2.21 ct. They're a little out of spec for what you're looking for, but pretty close. The MRB band is a 7.5, but it's August and I retain water and my fingers swell, so it definitely looks like I need a larger size there.

Thanks to lulu_ma’s suggestion I bought a couple of cz rings on Amazon, and I am realizing I am not quite sure yet what I want. I love them though, I feel like a kid playing dress up! I bought a 3ct solitaire gold ring and a 4ct total weight 3 stone white metal ring. Still trying to decide what I like best and enjoying the process. i want a stunning ring that draws the eye and really makes an impression. I was inspired by a woman at work who has an amazing ring like that but I was too shy to ask her any details or try to see it up close. My hands might be too much like brick man hands to get the same effect with a solitaire but I’m going to keep looking! Let me know what you think.

Oh dear, this is going to be a tough decision @BestFriend52! Both styles look amazing on you! I keep going back and forth...I lean towards the solitaire but the 3 stone does give nice coverage. I'm no help LOL.

I think your hands are just fine! Most everybody's hands look a bit rough in a close-up photo.

If you have brick man hands, then my wife must have spent her life laying concrete!
