i'd like to get something a little different, and luxurious feeling, but something i'll actually wear again. my current faves are green amethysts... like this
Yup, Harleigh, you got it. There aren''t too many options online, but I''ve found that most nicer jewelers stock a handful of pieces. The color is amazing - like a minty green. I''m thinking earrings and a necklace might be in order!Date: 10/19/2007 12:34:42 AM

ETA: I think I found them here.
Cool, I just wanted to make sure that no-one was getting ripped-off by some unscrupulous salesman - and throw out the warning about the colour fading.Date: 10/19/2007 9:14:47 AM

Yup, i''ve heard that it''s heated amethyst. I''m not really worried about it not being of the same ''category'' as sapphires or rubies - I just think the color is gorgeous! And, of course, since it''s cheaper you can get substantial-sized pieces, which is nice.
