Anybody got any suggestions for fun shower games? Thanks!

I''m not a fan of shower games....as far as I know there won''t be any at my...just food, me open gifts, and getting the heck out of there.

However, I was talking to my friend the other day and she told me about a game where you play bingo, the card has the names of everyone at the shower and you are asked a question such as ''who drove the farthest'' so basically it not only forces you to speak to everyone but also wins you a prize...hopefully.

TP Wedding Dress game! Everytime I''ve played this game it gets a great response.

Hi Selflove,

I am throwing a shower for my BF and the only game we are doing is kinda like the newlywed game.

But I am going to tape the groom and ask him a series of questions, like:

Where was your first date
Where is the most embarrassing place you have had sex
what is the item of clothing that you own that your fi hates the most

I can send you all of them if you like...

Anyway, so during the shower, we ask the bride the same questiosn and see what she thinks her FI will answer and then we play the tape with his reply.

Plus at the end of the video he can say somethig sweet to his soon to be bride and all her friends. it makes for a great sappy moment~

My tip though would be to zoom in on the wall or something in between questions while you are taping him so you know when to pause the video, so it doesn''t run on to the next answer.

I have done this for a few different showers and it has always been really funny to hear all the answers.

good luck!

A quiz about the married couple-to-be is always fun...have the bride give you a list of 10 questions about her and the groom, and then whoever gets the most right gets a prize. If there are funny questions, it sparks lots of conversation. Make sure to have a tiebreaker question that''s harder, or something where the closest guess wins (ie. how many children do so and so want to have?)

You guys are AAAAAAAAWESOME!!! This totally helps! My family back home is throwing my shower and my mom got all stressed out and asked my MOH to come up with a game. Well, she''s a single mom and busy as hell so she called ME and said "Help!"

Ivana--I have heard that newlywed game show idea before and it actually sounds like fun! Can you send me the list of questions you used? We don''t have time to do a video (MOH and family are in Wisconsin and FI is working in Memphis for the next two weeks; the shower is this Saturday!) but it sounds like a fabulous touch! Thanks so much!

FG--this is a good one, and something I can easily do with all my down time at work (but then I know all the answers so it''s not as fun for me but I could make it funny for everyone else...lots of ideas coming into my brain).

Caribou--I know what you mean about games but ya gotta give the guests a reason to come and give ya a gift, right?! (J.K.!)

SB--yup, that one''s on the list already, it was the only one I knew of and I know it''s funny. Plus, I know I can''t get humiliated during that game!

For those not so big into games you can always do something to the plates/glasses/chairs like place a sticker or write something on the bottom. Whoever gets the marked item/chair wins a gift.

Example: For a shower i threw i wrote the bride's name on the bottom of one plate and the grooms name on the bottom of another. For one of my showers the tables were already set so they stuck a flower bloom under the plate.

We are playing the " 10 questions" game described above and also a wedding word scramble for guests to work on throughout the shower with words like Bride, prenuptual agreement, divorce, ball and chain, wedding cake, matrimony, etc! we played this at my sister''s shower and the "prenup and Divorce" always got a good chuckle out of people!

I am not a big fan of games either. But, I thought this game was fun and creative. It was played at a shower in which I was a bridesmaid. A tray was prepared with miscellaneous items on it. Scissors, a paperclip, cd, really anything you could come up with. The group was told that the bride was going to walk around with the tray and everyone could have one good look at the tray and then they would have to try to remember as many items as they could. The bride then exited the room with the tray. It was then announced after she left that the game was really about details of what the BRIDE actually was wearing! So everyone was then passed a sheet of paper with random questions like "Was the bride wearing a necklace or no necklace? Open toed shoes or closed toe? How was her hair styled? Was she wearing a skirt or a dress?" So that is just an example there were tons of questions, one full front of the paper. I ended up winning that game, I lived with the bride for 3 years so I even got the question right about what perfume was she wearing!

I went to a briadal shower and we played bridal bingo... When she opened a gift you had to check off that space on your card. It was acutally alot of fun! The winner got a little gift at the end of the game. Here is a website that sells the cards...
